With help from Gerald and Gardevoir, they wheeled him towards the waters edge once they reached the beach along the city limits, allowing him to enjoy the sound of the ocean and take in the salty breeze as Gerald and the two Pokemon stood behind him, a smile on their faces as Chris let out a relaxed sigh. "Nice niiice..." he cooed with a chuckle, stretching his arms up in the air. "I can't believe how long its been since I've been outside... Never thought just sitting at the ocean could feel so incredible..." he smiled, taking in a deep breath. After a moment, Gardevoir suddenly walked up to Chris, feeling her way around him until she was standing in front of him. "G... Gardevoir...? Is something wrong...?" he blinked, suddenly jolting as he looked at Gerald. "O... Oh!! I forgot to thank you two for pushing me through the sand!! I... I'm sorry!" he told the two, thanking them only for Gardevoir to shake her head and Gerald to wave his hand with a chuckle. Looking back at Gardevoir, he tilt his head confused, only to watch her suddenly lower onto a knee and bow her head to him with a hand on her chest. "A... Ah...? H... Hey... What's that about?" Chris blinked as Gerald and Servine watched intrigued as well. "Chris... You good human... Really... Really good... You are special and... Dear... Always nice... Never want to raise hand to anyone... Whether good or bad... Even when we do bad... You treat so nice... Show such love... Care and worry... Always doing nice stuff... Never want anything..." she told him, only for Chris to laugh nervously and wave his hands. "C... Come on... Its not that big a deal... G... Get up... You're not a servant..." he told her, only for Gardevoir to shake her head and clutch her chest tightly. "You never judge anyone... You give me home... Servine home... In your heart... Make us feel like worth something when others wouldn't... Nobody else... See what you see in us... You good person... Special person... Want to tell you its... Honor... Being with you... Most happy thing... That could ever happen... You don't want called master... And I not say it out of respect... But saying it now... From bottom of my heart... You're great master... Only master I ever want... Only master I ever obey... You are one and only... One of kind..." she told him as Chris looked at her, feeling uncomfortable from hearing master coming from her yet slightly blushing nonetheless. "Pokemon... Not normally feel such way for humans... But want to say... I love you... Love you as my master... And love you as really good man... I always respect... Always follow... You make it choice for us to stay or leave... I never leave you... Want life with you... Forever... Live with you... Obey you... Only you..." she told him as Chris looked at her surprised before smiling and reaching towards her, rubbing her head causing Gardevoir to jolt and her horn to flash before slowly holding his hand in front of her, facing up as if she could see his face. "For you... My master... My loving master... I will move world... If only ask... Anything... You're orders are... My everything... You are... Everything..." she told him, causing Chris to suddenly flush brightly as if it were a sudden reversed proposal situation, sweating nervously as he scratched his cheek shyly. "Well I... I uh... Er... Th... Thank..." he said, pausing as he watched Servine and even Gerald stand in front of him and do the same, bowing on a knee with their heads down and a hand on their chest.
"N... Not you two as well... Wh... What spurred this on?" he groaned in a frustrated yet happy tone. "Master Chris, her words are the truth. Its been an absolute pleasure to serve you and your Pokemon, truly from the bottom of my heart as well... Each day has been a thrill, full of touching and exciting surprises at every turn! This moment included... I never thought I would find myself enjoying serving someone to such a degree... I can only thank you wholeheartedly for having been given the chance to meet you and these wonderful Pokemon by your side." he told him, causing Chris to glow all the brighter and wave his hands. "N... No no!! Seriously guys its nothing!! Q... Quit already..." he responded. Hearing Servine making noises as well, Chris and Gerald faced her, blinking confused causing Servine to stop and face down embarrassed, slightly saddened as well until Gardevoir faced her and tilt her head. "Why you stop talking? You should tell how you feel too." Gardevoir responded, suddenly putting a hand on Servines head. "Easy for you to say!! They don't understand a word I...!!!" Servine responded, going wide eyed and gasping as both Chris and Gerald nearly fell backwards with a loud "woah!!!" in response. The two blinking at Servine awe struck, she blushed and looked up at Gardevoir. "I... I can talk... Too?! Seriously?! You can do that?!!" she asked, Gardevoir standing and nodding in response. "Share... Telepathy... Sharing good... Now you talk... Long as I'm near... Use power so thoughts heard..." she told Servine. "Th... Then you should have done this long before now you greedy oaf!! You just wanted all the conversing to yourself!!" she lectured, Gardevoir crossing her arms with an irritated look. "...Sharing not ALWAYS good. Maybe take away..." she warned, causing Servine to step back with an "urk!" before sighing. Facing Chris, she gulped and flushed all the brighter. "I... I uh... I... Just... That is... I was saying..." she stuttered, starting to steam as Chris looked down at her in surprise. "Woah... You've got a really pretty voice too Servine..." he praised, showing an excited smile causing Gardevoir to shrug and face away as Servine's tail shot up. "I... I I... I..." she stuttered before quickly turning away. "I... I wanted to tell you y... You're nice too... T... Tell you th... Thanks and a... All... F fo... For the home and all... Food... K... Kind... H... Heart and l... Love and... Wh what... Ga Gard... S... Said and..." she struggled, her eyes starting to spiral as she glowed in humiliation, ill prepared to actually speak to Chris in his own language for the first time.
Laughing nervously and waving his hand, Chris told Servine not to push herself as Gerald stood and looked at the two Pokemon in amazement, suddenly going up to Gardevoir and examining her face, opening her mouth and peering inside, then doing the same to Servine causing her to "ack!!" repeatedly as Gardevoir made spitting noises, puffing out her cheeks with her hands on her hips in irritation. "Extraordinary... Able to use ones mind to communicate in the language of another... That in itself is amazing and yet... To relay that ability through another and allow that being to speak as well... Simply brilliant... What miraculous Pokemon!!" he shout as though an excited child, looking over Servine before returning to Gardevoir and looking her over as well, closely examining her horn with an intrigued look. "Ahhhh amazing amazing... What an enchanting world this is!" he grinned. Feeling a bit... Uncomfortable... Gardevoir stepped away from him, feeling her way next to Chris and standing behind him with her chest covered. "D... Don't like... Too close... You're not... Chris..." she muttered, causing Gerald to blink and quickly wave his hands. "O... Oh dear!! Ma Madam I do apologize! I was merely astounded by the two of you is all! P... Please forgive me..." he said with a bow, Servine sticking her tongue out in disgust and rubbing her sore cheeks, irritated by his sudden invasive behavior as well as she climbed onto Chris's lap. "We're not creatures to touch all over and research you know!! Be more considerate you fool!! Most women call that molestation!!" Servine snapped with a sharp tongue, causing Gerald to jump back and slump with a depressed look, poking his fingers together and nodding with an "I'm sorry madam." in response, a tear in his eye.
Looking at the two Pokemon and smiling nervously, Chris held Gardevoirs hand and rubbed the back of it. "Now now... We both know Gerald's a really nice man. You just really surprised him with how awesome you are! You can do some really special things!" he told her with a grin, his words causing Gardevoir to suddenly blush wide eyed. "I can do... Special...? So... You think I'm... Special...?" she responded, her head seeming to slightly pop as she pulled her hand away and stood silently, poking her fingers with a quiet giggle. "And who wouldn't want to be close to someone with such an awesome voice? Hearing you talk is like listening to an angel!" he said, Servine crossing her arms with a scowl as she sat with her back to him, only to realize he was saying that to her when he rubbed her on the head. "I sure am lucky to have a Pokemon with not only a beautiful form, but a beautiful voice too! I dunno which is more beautiful!" he laughed, causing Servine to sit frozen and glow the same as Gardevoir. "I... I I... I I... N... Na naturally!!!" she suddenly shout in response, jumping off him and shaking her head, flustered and irritated at the same time. "G... Geez... F First time I speak your tongue... And its me who is an oaf..." she grumbled, looking towards the sand and shaking her head once again, trying to get rid of her own shyness. Facing her direction, Gardevoir smirked and waved a hand. "I shy too. Still tell Chris how feel! You just too shallow..." she mocked, causing Servine to gasp and face her with a furious expression.
"Shallow? HA!! Says the greedy oaf who could have helped me talk all this time yet kept such a power to herself!!" she reminded Gardevoir, only for the Pokemon to shrug in response. "Glad I did too... When you talk, you even MORE annoying..." she muttered, digging inside one of her ears causing Servine to gasp once again. "Wh... Why you... Well, at least Chris knows which of us has the better voice in his tongue! Clearly which of us has the better form as well!!" she grinned, making a pose and letting out a musical tune with her voice as Chris and Gerald backed away, smiling nervously and slightly sweating. "I... I'm glad I seem to be off the hook... But I'm not sure if this situation is any better..." Gerald told Chris with a guilty smile. "Ha ha... Don't worry about it... I'm sure they'll... Err... Bond it out... Yeah... Bond!" he responded with a nervous laugh. "Better form...? You just tiny... And have shape like over sized teriyaki noodle..." Gardevoir told Servine with another shrug, having touched her enough to know. "H... How dare you!! I resemble a noodle in no way whatsoever!! Don't compare me to food you pest!!" she barked back, trying to think of another comeback, only to glance at Chris and grin slyly. "Well... At least... I have common courtesy... Proper manners and all that... Little miss feel Chris up in his sleep..." she chuckled, Gardevoir suddenly flushing brightly with a gasp. "Wha wa wa... What?!! That below belt!!! Not fair!!!" she shout back, stomping her foot as Chris blinked wide eyed and blushed brightly, crossing his arms over his torso as Gerald covered his mouth, snickering with an "Oh... Oh my..." while Servine laughed loudly.
Tearing up, Gardevoir suddenly began forming small energy spheres in her hands, and next thing they knew, she was chasing Servine all around the shoreline, using Servines screams and her momentarily increased psychic abilities to find where she was running away towards. "Not fair not fair not fair!!! I never let you talk again!!!" she screamed, Servine dodging all over the place with terrified tears in her eyes. "Th... This isn't fair!!! No physical attacks!! No physical attacks!!" she screamed back. Watching as Gardevoir left holes all over the beach, Chris and Gerald remained where they were left, both showing blank smiles on their faces. "Hey Gerald...?" Chris asked. "Yes master Chris?" he responded. "Wonderful day to be at the beach, huh?" Chris asked. "Yes indeed, master Chris." he responded. "I really know how to pick them, huh?" Chris asked. "Impeccable taste, master Chris." he responded, and the two let out a worn out sigh as Gardevoir continued chasing after Servine as best she could, blindly sending her energy all over the shoreline and into the ocean, knocking out many Pokemon residing along the coast, causing them to float to the surface including an unfortunate Gyarados in the distance, along with several Pokemon laying belly up that had been blown out of the sand, leaving the coast looking like more and more of a war zone...
Eventually, the two wore one another out and, ironically, flopped down right in front of Chris and Gerald, the two looking down at them and shaking their heads. "I don't suppose if I commanded you to stop... You would have?" Chris asked, Gardevoir jolting and suddenly showing a sad look as she sat up. "I'm... Sorry..." she responded, Servine sitting up as well. "Y... Yeah... Same here..." she told him with a scowl. "Deplorable behavior... First time speaking your tongue and I converse so distastefully..." she admitted, looking down as Chris and Gerald blinked at her amazed. "W... Woah... You have a really... Dignified way of talking..." Chris responded. Looking up at him, she quickly got up and pat herself off, smiling proudly. "Naturally!! You learn a lot watching TV all the time!!" she grinned, only for Gardevoir to face her with a scowl. "...Because you're lazy..." she muttered, causing Servine to jolt and face her with an irritated look. "Ha!! At least I CAN!!" she responded, causing Gardevoir to jolt wide eyed before facing down sadly, nodding in admittance as Chris and Gerald crossed their arms and shook their heads with disappointed looks. "Not cool Servine... You know that's an off bounds subject..." Chris told her sternly, causing Servine to freeze up and look down as well. "I... I'm sorry... Perhaps not speaking your tongue is for the best..." she responded. "My tongue or your own, speaking that way is wrong. Is THAT how you've spoken towards people and Gardevoir all this time?" he asked, causing Servine to face him wide eyed, quickly shaking her head and waving her hands. "N... No no!! Rest assured!! G... Granted I can speak sharply... But I'm not too terrible to say the least... I mean..." she responded, looking down again sadly.
Sensing her and Chris's emotions, Gardevoir sat quietly for a moment until she suddenly rubbed Servine on the head. "I forgive you... Getting to talk just made you too excited... Too many emotions at once... You forgive too, right?" she asked, able to hear Chris sigh and facing him. Jolting with an "urk!" of his own, Chris looked around at the beach, looking at Servine as well and comparing the damage the both of them caused in the end. "All on me now huh? Ha ha..." he responded nervously as Gerald watched the three. Looking over the beach some more and back at Servine, he finally nodded and rubbed them both on the head. "Y... Yeah... Just... Go easy on one another more... Alright...?" he told the two, Gardevoir smiling with a "that's my master..." look on her face, Servine continuing to show a guilty look as she nodded. "B... Beg pardon..." she told him, repeating it to Gardevoir only for her to wave her hand silently in a "forget it" response as she let out a coo, rubbing her head against Chris's hand with a thrilled expression on her face. Showing a bit of sweat, Servine sighed and shook her head, looking up at his hand still on her head as well. Admitting in her mind it did feel pretty... Good... She began to smile herself, closing her eyes and silently enjoying his touch as Gerald smiled nervously yet nodded in approval.
Once he pulled his hands away, both Pokemon showed an "aww..." expression before they both quickly snapped out of it, shaking their heads and laughing embarrassed together. Looking at Gardevoir, she glanced at her eyes and faced away, looking down again. "T... Truly do apologize... Admittedly I have a sharp tongue that often acts before my brain... I'll work on it... But rest assured I won't allow myself to target your sight again when I'm upset..." she assured Gardevoir. Waving her hand again, Gardevoir responded with a simple "forget it forget it" before standing up, feeling her way along Chris's wheelchair until she was standing behind him holding onto the handles. "Should both be ashamed... Chris's first day out of hospital. We ruining it." she said, causing Servine to jolt and groan, remembering the fact as well and facing away ashamed. "H... Hey... Forget about it... You've made it exciting so far at least! And you two were able to show me some progression with one another! Admittedly pretty sudden progress but... Ha ha... It made me happy to see!" he told the two, scratching his cheek nervously with a nervous laugh. Stepping in, Gerald cleared his throat, looking at his watch and smiling. "Well... After all that, I'd wager these two have worked up quite an appetite! Why not fetch ourselves something to eat next? I bet all of you would enjoy dining together at a restaurant again!" Gerald grinned, all three perking up with a smile on their faces. "Oh man... You've got no idea... I mean having it brought to me was fine... But still..." Chris responded, laughing and rubbing his head embarrassed. "Go out... Have good food with Chris again... Sounds really nice..." Gardevoir responded, nodding and feeling her way to Chris's head, rubbing it causing him to look upwards and smile with a bit of sweat on his head.
Standing quietly, Servine looked back at the sand, still feeling down over how her first time speaking the human language went. But suddenly, Gerald picked her up and sat her on Chris's lap, facing her towards him as she looked up at his face. "Hey... We told you not to worry about it. Just think of it as one of those... Second chance kind of things... Gardevoir is still letting you talk like us, so just keep that in mind whenever you feel upset or frustrated with her... Alright? Someone being a good friend towards a person deserves having that person be a good friend back. I'm not saying you have to be perfect towards one another. Just don't be insensitive... Deal?" he smiled, rubbing her on the head once more. Nodding, she sat quietly as Gerald and Gardevoir brought Chris back to the concrete, with Chris thanking them and apologizing several times along the way until he could wheel himself again. Looking at him and his wheelchair, Servine suddenly thought back to when he jumped off the cliff, letting out a sigh and shaking her head. "What Gardevoir said..." she said with a pause, causing Chris to stop and look down at her. "What was that?" he asked, blinking confused. "What she said... About you... Its the same with me... I... Fancy... The idea of staying with you for the foreseeable future myself... You're an impressive human and all... Assuming that's alright with you since you know how I talk now... If you can stand it I mean... Or I could just stay with you without talking." she told him, causing Chris to smile nervously with a bit of sweat on his face.
"Well... Its like I said, I really like hearing you talk... You've got a pretty voice and all, plus it makes me feel like I'm in front of royalty kinda... I just want you to be nice is all. At least to Gardevoir... Who you are and how you talk is fine by me that aside." he told her with a thumbs up. Looking at him wide eyed, she found herself blushing once again and quickly faced down, not wanting to show it as he continued wheeling himself along with Gerald and Gardevoir walking at his sides, Gardevoir holding onto one of the handles for guidance. As they reached the limo, the wheelchair suddenly bounced over something, startling Servine as she nearly bounced off his lap and Chris blinked in surprise. What was that...?" he asked, looking behind himself as Gerald did the same. Picking the object up, it turned out to be a large branch-like piece of wood, likely blown towards the limo when Gardevoir was in her flustered state. Shrugging and about to toss it, Chris quickly told Gerald to wait, motioning for him to bring it up as Servine watched confused, Gardevoir tilting her head curiously as well. "This actually looks pretty good..." Chris muttered, taking it from Gerald and looking it over, giving it a feel and trying to bend it. "If you don't mind, can I bring it in the limo with me? With a little work... I think it would make a pretty good staff... I might need a sturdy one once I can actually walk again..." he told Gerald, getting a nod in response. "Certainly sir! But are you certain you wouldn't prefer to buy one?" he asked, only for Chris to shake his head. "Nah... I'm pretty good at carving... The old man taught me a long time ago. I'll turn it into something nice!" he grinned. Putting it across his lap and wheeling himself forward once again. "...All that money. Yet he finds a use for something as simple as that for himself and gets excited over it..." Gerald thought to himself, suddenly showing a smile of respect before quickly catching up to them.
Opening the door, Gerald helped the three inside and climbed in himself, driving off towards their next destination to celebrate Chris's first day out of the hospital...
A young man named Chris, now 23, who discovered he carries a curse placed on him by a Ninetails his grandfather saved long ago by grabbing its tail as it fell from a cliff, is to forever put others first before doing what he wishes in life, and has now finally set off on his own Pokemon journey, a little later in life than most, after dedicating his youth to care for his grandfather and the other elders in his village, part of the fate the Ninetails told his grandfather would befall Chris after his birth when the curse was placed.
Now that his grandfather has passed away and the elders have sent him on his way to live life as he should, his curse now strings him along as he walks the path of a Pokemon trainer, doing what he always dreamed while also, unknowingly, conveniently fulfilling his part of the Ninetails curse...
Awh. Such a nice heart warming chapter, so touching, like the last chapter also.
Hehe, when Gardevoir went down on one knee I was struck with an "Ohh?" expression, thinking about proposals or something...think I was a little too far ahead of myself then ^-^;
It's going to be rather interesting in what future chapters will have in store considering Servine can now use some telepathy to talk to everyone, even if she has to be near Gardevoir. Such a regal and upperclass speech she has too, but then afterall, upon becoming Serperior, they are known as the "Regal Pokemon".
Keep up the awesome work!

That was adorable. Well done. I love Gerald. And the girls were good too i guess... Heh, kidding. But really, I quite like being able to hear Servine. It did seem kind of out of nowhere that Gardevoir suddenly is able to make her talk, but I'm willing to overlook it, as I love hearing Servine talk. She always got sidelined due to not being able to give her inout much, and now she feels like she's on more equal ground. Heck, she can actually talk so much better than Gardevoir too. I thought Gardevoir somewhat poor english was due to being a Pokemon and new to talking, but Servine has better grammar and vocabulary than Chris!

When it comes to telepathy a Pokemons speech would naturally revolve around how well they themselves understand the language they are trying to use.
Its like how humans often speak the same language differently. Some have accents and such based on where they grew up. Gardevoir never took the time to actually dedicate herself to learning the human language in any specific way so therefore she merely speaks using what she can understand herself, while Servine as she mentioned has watched so much TV and took the time to dedicate herself to proper speech it easily reflects now.
It also goes well, as you mentioned, with their personalities and makes them all the more unique.
When it comes to telepathy a Pokemons speech would naturally revolve around how well they themselves
Hmm, I suppose that makes sense. How well they can speak is based on how well they know the language. Telepathy just gives them the ability to do it. Hmm, though that raises the question of why they can't to begin with. If it is a mental block of some kind, then telepathy makes sense as a solution. But if it were more of a physical thing, then practice would be what is needed... But anyways, I like the result, and you clearly put a good amount of thought into this and know more about pokemon than me. So i'll trust you know what you're doing.
Hmm, I suppose that makes sense. How well they can speak is based on how well they know the language
You see, just like animals, Pokemon have their own voice boxes, limited to their own native tongue yet able to communicate with one another to various degrees. Animals aren't like people in that they can speak different languages. Which is why throughout the series existence a Pokemon has only been able to speak to humans via telepathy, because they can essentially "think" in the human language depending on how much effort they have put into understanding it, but they still cannot speak it naturally.
Meowth is the one and only exception, yet even to this day he has an odd accent because Pokemon are not genetically meant to speak human, so you still hear his native Pokemon tongue whenever he speaks, his own unique slur so to say. As far as Pokemon using telepathy at will, its only psychic types who can to my knowledge, so naturally most Pokemon cannot use the ability without help from a Pokemon who can who is willing to share their ability.
Rather tasking on Gardevoir but still... Show's she's good at heart and doesn't mind letting Servine talk to Chris now too... Even if it is begrudgingly... Chris's sense of fairness rubbed off on her.
You see, just like animals, Pokemon have their own voice boxes, limited to their own native tongue y
It is possible I may have just realized a misunderstanding I had until now. You kept mentioning telepathy, but i thought it was basically telepathy that unlocked their ability to physically speak somehow. But now it sounds like you're saying they're speaking like...directly from mind to mind rather than out loud. If this is the case, I think it was mostly caused by your formatting and lack of explicite statement of the talking being entirely in their heads. Normally I italicise mental speech myself, and sometimes leave out the quotations depending on the circumstance and how it's working. So habit might have made me not realize it was mental speech if that is the case. Also Chris mentioned he liked Servine's "voice".

You see when a Pokemon uses telepathy their voice can echo out from their minds, so in a sense they don't really control who hears it. Its a... Difficult thing to describe... But whenever a Pokemon uses it, generally everyone around can hear them speaking, as was seen with Lucario, Jurachi, Lugia, and Entei.

Ahhh okay. So my suspcion was correct. Originally I thought the telepathy allowed them to speak vocally (like with their vocally cords and such out loud). But during this conversation i started thinking it was...well that. What you said. And I totally get how that works. I just wasn't sure which...version of telepathy it was I guess. I'm writing a Superhero book so my problem is never "I don't understand" and more "I understand too much." I see all the alternatives and question which it is.

Now that they can discuss everything in depth, it gives the conversations more importance. Compared to the use of symbolic language Servine had to use. But the Pokemon have an advantage, they can leave out Chris from their talks… like in the “bath” scene… or in more dramatic situations.

yeah... Sucks for him because from time to time, who knows what they could be talking about? best part is, the reader will be just as clueless, so its devious for many reasons...
