I wonder if those creatures actually understood the meaning behind their words or if they were just parroting terms that gave them an advantage, like when the demons in Freiren call out to their parents when they're in danger because they know it elicits sympathy from humans even though they don't have a concept of what parents are.

I'm going to assume that she was summoned by another. That the individual castor only returns their own summons. Despite her tail wrapped so tightly against that pillar, I don't think the portal would close until everything was returned that it was responsible for releasing.

I actually really appreciate the horrified scream of the shrewmlin and that we get to actually see their mouth rather then the facade of the carapace. This is a great piece, with not a LOT going on, but very satisfying what it's got, and where IT ended up.

Oh wow. I finally understand the screwmlin face. All this time I have been a bit confused about that face I thought I saw vs the insectoid design they had. I mean I could always tell those mandibles were their real mouth, but the rest of the face was always confusing. Now I finally see those rosy cheeks were actually their real eyes the whole time and what I thought was the face was just an evolutionary trick, like eyespots. I need to go back and look at every image of them with better understanding what is really there.
