The next morning in the tent, Tiki was more defiant about not wanting to get up. He clung to Kody and when the wolf got up and started to get dressed, Tiki seemed to get legitimately upset. After getting dressed, Tiki still hadn't gotten out of bed. "Tiki, we have to go to our classes," Kody insisted after some hesitation. "Fine! Whatever.." Tiki said, throwing the blankets off of him and roughly pulling his clothes on. Kody was taken aback by this drastic shift in attitude from the young fox. Tiki stormed out before Kody could even collect himself enough to respond. Throughout the day it bothered Kody, and his worry that he might've gone too far with the fox. He couldn't think of another reason why Tiki would be mad at him. After the day of finishing classes, Kody returned to camp to find Tiki sitting and being antisocial, not unlike how he was the first day of summer camp. |

"Hey Tiki," the wolf cautiously greeted the fox, sitting next to him. "Hi Kody," Tiki responded. He didn't look up at the wolf. "Are you doing okay?" "Yeah..." Tiki obviously lied. He wasn't being nearly as open as he was, but he did scoot closer to Kody. "Can we go to our camp now?" "Yeah..." Kody agreed. He knew the scout master probably heavily disliked that Kody and Tiki have not been integrating with the rest of the group but Kody was too concerned about Tiki to deny him. Nearing their own camp, the wolf asked, "So what's wrong Tiki?" "Nothiiing," Tiki whined in a clear annoyed tone. Kody dropped it for now. A few minutes later they arrived at their own camp through the thickets. They sat near one another, and Kody put an arm around Tiki. The fox immediately leaned in and snuggled up to Kody. "You want to tell me what's bothering you now?" Kody gently pressed. Tiki remained quiet and shook his head. He pressed himself more against the wolf. Kody was still concerned, and he pet the fox between the ears and down his neck to his shoulder. The fox nuzzled against Kody. "Can I...." Tiki started but his voice caught in his throat and he stopped. He let out a heavy sigh. Kody gently licked the fox's ear. "It's okay, you can tell me." "I don't wanna go home tomorrow..." Tiki said quietly. "I wanna stay with you..." Kody let out a sigh. The fox was also being bothered by the camp trip coming to an end, and it was bothering Kody a lot as well. He pulled Tiki into his lap and hugged him tightly. "I know Tiki... I want to stay with you too." "Am I ever going to see you again?" Tiki asked with his voice quivering. "Yes!" Kody said definitively, squeezing the fox in his arms. His heart went out to the fox. "And I'm giving you my phone number and email so we can talk whenever you want!" Giving a ten year old my contact information should be harmless enough, right? Tiki squirmed a bit, but he seemed to calm down a bit. "I don't have a phone, but I can use the house phone, I guess. I haven't had an email before either..." "Does that make you feel better?" Kody asked. "A little... I guess." "Tiki, I love you," Kody said, putting his fears and hesitations to the back of his mind. "I'm going to miss you a lot. But let's do something fun tonight, and we can worry about it tomorrow." Tiki turned into the wolf, and put a paw under the wolf's shirt, while nuzzling up against his neck. Kody blushed, realizing that Tiki was getting an addiction to the naked activities they've been getting up to. |
