Yeah, so I uploaded a Gene-Tasli-Mimi comic to IB the other day and left it up only an hour. I felt bad about it, but what else could I do; the art was too bad to leave up.
Well, this ACO of James the Cat drawn sometime in the forgotten days of 2021 should help a bit.
This card was drawn as a request from some superfan of James the Cat over on DA. Said superfan now has a deactivated account so who knows where they are now? *looks up at sky; wind blows, ruffling his cape*
Anyway...
I drew two ACOs of James the Cat. This was the one I didn't publish as its own upload, but rather linked to it via the description of the second (so a few of you reading this may've seen this card before).
This is a distressing picture of James, showing James tumbling into a pond as Fennimore the Rat watches from a tree. Even so, this card shows nothing that didn't happen on the show---in fact, this card is referencing the 'Waterworks' episode which may be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dGuePHQayLM
Pencil...
The featured pencil was brought to us compliments of NY Life Insurance Co. This pencil boasts a long ferrule with a curious hex base. It was made sometime around the 1910s-1920s, so it's roughly a hundred years old or so at time of writing. The featured pencil is a brownish-red, though I have a black one identical in every way save for color. I dunno if this pencil was made in any other colors, though it likely was. As for who made this pencil ...I cannot be sure. However, I have suspicion this one was made by Souvenir Pencil Co. My reason for believing this could be described as esoteric but ...this pencil has a certain 'feel' to it: it's hex-shaped wooden barrel has very well defined edges/panels---it's not softly 'rounded' in the way most hex pencils are. This is a characteristic I've observed in a number of ad-bearing antique pencils (most of which had long ferrules) that (based on font and general aesthetic) were almost certainly made by the same company (not 'printed by' but 'made by'). It so happens I have a salesman sample of such a pencil, bearing al the familiar aforementioned characteristics associated with these hard-edge hex-barrels. That pencil was made by Souvenir Pencil Co. :3
Granted, this pencil is slightly different from those insofar as its font, but it's almost certain this pencil was cut at the same mill as the others I've mentioned (but there's no way to prove it---anyone who had anything to do with this pencil when it was new has likely been dead for decades). :3
After watching an episode, I give that show a 1, the voice acting was more annoying than anything and the animation was almost not there at all! Did the people who make have next to no money or even try?
