Seems the trailer wolves are partaking in Mer-May ...or 'Mer-Mae', as the case may be. Let's see what happens...
MAE: "May I PLEASE wear my Mer-May fins to the beach with Lupe?"
WOLFMOM: "Yes"
/Later at the beach/
MAE: "I can't walk in these fins---carry me to the sea!"
LUPE (assertive): "I ain't carrying you anywhere! Besides, Mom said not to let in the water wearing that silly thing!"
MAE (annoyed): "Oh be that way---some fun you are! I'll crawl over to those rocks and bask!"

/Mae kicks off the fins and hightails it to Lupe/
/The hungry seagulls rip apart the fins/
SEAGULLS (picnicking): "MACKEREL!" "MACKEREL!" "MACKEREL!" "MACKEREL!" "MACKEREL!"
/Mae (safe and sound) is teased by Lupe/
Well, that happened. Mae is usually the one who gets the upperhand, but not in this case ...and, yes Inkbunny: Mae was wearing a bottom under her fins (I drew that last panel in such way to answer the question I knew would be coming had I drawn something else lol).
I hadn't seen much of Mer-May this year ...until I mentioned it to someone, then I began seeing mermaid art everywhere (at least on DA).
Now, much like Inktober, Mer-May isn't something I care TOO much about, but if I want to make something festive, I will ...esp. if I have an appropriate pencil to go with the occasion (but more on that later).
Returning to the trailer wolves, I should say I have NOT forgotten the twins. In fact, I'll likely do something with them the next time we visit the wolves. It just kinda works out that Mae and Lupe are easier to write for. /shrugs/
In other news, I had an embarrassing experience walking home today. A beer popped open in my backpack, soaking its contents (my groceries). Enough of it leaked out that it was dripping on my trousers (which is how I noticed).
Such a thing has never happened to me before, so I felt it was worth mentioning here. ^^
