This drawing is based on a request by matiasdiaz3524(requests are currently closed) who wanted an image of Bow Hothoof(the father or Rainbow Dash) sitting on the toilet while reading the newspaper and enjoying the solitude of his privacy. I actually made a drawing similar to this a while back depicting Rainbow Dash pranking her Dad by stealing the toilet paper from him. But this time around, he simply has complete solitude and has plenty of reading material to keep him occupied while doing his business.
I also decided to neglect my typical style of drawing and try as best as I could to make it look like the actual show. I went so far as to download an image of Bow Hothoof and used the eyedropper tool on Photoshop directly taking all of his colors to ensure that it was accurate. I even added the Hub logo on the bottom right to give an element of television realism as if it were an actual screenshot. So do you think I did alright as far as capturing the artistic style of the show?

From a critical standpoint, it does look like an actual screenshot from the show itself; what with the lineless objects and all. Not bad at all. ^^

Anytime :3 And other shows have, so I can't imagine why they couldn't. But, 90% of cartoon creators tend to shy away from scenes like this in their creation. Because they worry people might find it weird or inappropriate or something. But yet in the 90's potty/toilet scenes were pretty typical in cartoons, TV shows & movies lmao.

I think it depends on the context of the scene. If they were to just show Bow Hothoof on the toilet for no apparent reason, it might be seen as suggestive. However, if it was used as part of a joke, that might make a little more sense. Like if someone were to use their magic to rip the house off exposing Bow Hothoof on the toilet, (similar to what Discord did in this scene https://derpicdn.net/img/view/2014/1/25/534267.gif )that would probably be considered okay even for a kid's show.

Yeah, that is a good point. Yeah that's definitely not something you'd see in most shows. I mean, that's KIND of happened in some of the "adult" like shows. Like Family Guy or something lol. But even then, some sort of joke or scene would follow not too long after that. I'd say maybe one instance where they just showed someone using the toilet (with no reason behind it), would be the Ren & Stimpy show lol.

But in any event yeah there's obviously some sort of reason for a show, to show a scene like that. Whether it's for yeah, joke/entertainment purposes. Or in other cases, if it's a children/toddler's show. And they wanna do it for potty training/educational purposes. There's MANY, that have done that. To show that hey, even your favorite characters use the toilet. You can do it too! Lol
