" Capharnaüm " (Capernaum) is the name of a real city mentioned in the Bible...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capernaum
In French, the term is used to designate a "bordelique" place... 🙂

So, yes, I deliberately chose an ambiguous name, with innuendo....

I assume this will be used for exploring the universe and not combat?

It's inspired by a spaceship model from the Star Trek universe....  =>

For speed though, not many crafts in the galaxy can beat this baby.

It can easily go warp 27,000, and make a trip between Earth and the Sirius Star System in a few hours.
It is a model SR-7, Beta class, ultra high performance, lite delta-wing craft, manufactured by Geoyia Craft Works on Planet Niyo in the Sirius Star System.
SR-7 Interstellar Cruiser - Beta Class by moyomongoose

Among the creatures of various worlds, the SR-7 has a well known reputation as being a "cosmic hot rod". To the delight of many teenage creatures of those various worlds, having an SR-7 is like what having a Ferrari, Bugatti, Viper, 'Vette or a racing bike would be to teenagers on Planet Earth.
In fact, there are mothers who would outright forbid their adolescent cubs to ever have one...Mamma thinks they are to fast and dangerous for an irresponsible youngster to have.

If an SR-7 was to speed past the USS Capernaum running at wide open throttle, it probably would appear on the Capernaum's radar for only a nano-second.
However...An SR-7 is a civilian craft. Therefore they are not equipped with the armaments and defense systems that the USS Capernaum has.

Officially, the Warp factor 10 is the (theoretically) maximum possible....
https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Warp_factor

When the "Daedalus" class was launched (near 2140), its speed was the maximum for Earth spaceships... And civilian ships were generally slower !
In the Star Trek universe, the speed of a ship depends on the technology used. And the technology used for Starfleet starships is normally the most advanced of its time.
When the Captain Kirk 's USS Enterprise will be launched, in 2245, the maximum speed will be Warp Factor 8... So, significantly faster than the old Daedalus ships.

Of course, that technology is that of Planet Earth.

The creatures of Planet Niyo possess technology that is advanced far beyond the comprehension of Planet Earth's society.
Ancient generations of the inhabitants of Niyo have proven a few thousand years ago that the warp 10 limit can be easily broken, and their technology has come a long way since the day and time of their ancestors.
Within a few generations, they might someday be on the threshold of intergalactic travel being made practical.
In fact, as for their automobiles, their cars have no wheels. Their cars generate an energy field that keeps them suspended above the road (the way Luke Skywalker's speeder works).
Their rural major highways have a speed limit just below the speed of sound, and that's only not to create a sonic boom on the roads. Cars traveling at speeds equal to Earth's 670 miles per hour are common...and their technology affords it to be done in complete safety.
They've even built robots that have intelligence, self awareness, a sense of will, and emotions like C3PO and R2D2 have in the Star Wars movies.

A scientist on Earth asks, "Are the things they do on Niyo even possible?"
Another Earth scientist replies, "If they're doing them, they are".

Besides, at warp 5, it would take almost 2 years to travel between the Sirius Star System and Planet Earth's star system...the distance being approximately 9 light years.
The USS Enterprise would make that trip in just over one year.
An SR-7 breezes through that trip in a few hours.

Well, In the Star Trek universe, we known that there are civilizations technologically more advanced than the Federation...  🙂
Generally, these civilizations are "neutral", and don't attempt to make contact with earthlings.

In the story I created in 1995 of them, contact with earthlings by the creatures of Niyo is limited to only a select few. They don't make contact with just anyone from Planet Earth.

As for neutrality, they have a very strong military, though they have the same policy as Sweden and Switzerland, where by they don't fight unless directly attacked.
