Hello everybody! Hope the year is going well. This is just a reminder post for One Week, One-Piece 2023. You might remember from my post at the beginning of the year, I gave this suggested outline to pace yourself to be ready for the event, if you plan to participate:
* By the end of February, have your idea for this year solidified. * By the end of April, make sure you have an artist on board (if you are a commissioner) and any permissions you might need from others. * By June 19th, I recommend having your artwork complete by this date (let the artist know way ahead of time) so that it can be ready to post on the first week of July; otherwise, it should be well underway! * By the end of June, make sure you've got your post ready to go up between July 2nd and July 8th!
Of course, you don't have to follow this at all, it's merely a suggestion. But, if you are following, hopefully you have solidified an idea for yourself or with any friends you might wanna rope in. If not there is still time and to be fair it doesn't have to be anything big. Even a simple pose or sketch is just fine! It's about the theme and having fun.
So, from now till end of April, I recommend making the arrangements. Make sure everyone's in, you've got all the permissions you need.
If you are an artist, you can sort of relax I think, once you've got all the okays from any character owners you might want to include (if any). Of course, you can start and finish your piece any time, but there is still plenty of time before posting.
If you are a commissioner, I recommend thinking about what artist(s) you might want to fulfill your idea, and reaching out to them. It's important to let them know that this is for an event in July (you can even link thi spost to help explain), and whether y'all start sooner or later is up to you. But it is good to be considerate to them about a due-date and maybe make tentative arrangements for when to start.
If you or anyone you are coordinating with has any questions, please direct them to these posts and/or me and I'll be happy to answer them! Until the end of April, enjoy your spring!
