Holy moly is it already May??? Okay, then. This is the final reminder for OWOP 2023! This reminder is based off of the following schedule:
* By the end of February, have your idea for this year solidified. * By the end of April, make sure you have an artist on board (if you are a commissioner) and any permissions you might need from others. * By June 19th, I recommend having your artwork complete by this date (let the artist know way ahead of time) so that it can be ready to post on the first week of July; otherwise, it should be well underway! * By the end of June, make sure you've got your post ready to go up between July 2nd and July 8th!
This is by no means a strict guide, but if you are planning to participate then by now you want to have already or plan to start working on / having your submission worked on either this or next month. The Posting Period is during the event, so please don't get confused by the June 19th marker. It's just a good goal to shoot for so you can have all your ducks in a row and not be stressin'.
If you are still at the 2nd bullet point, and to prevent stress, then I recommend one of these options for you:
1) Wait until next year! This is an annual event and so it's okay to skip or miss a year. It's about fun and expression. 2) If you miss the week of the event proper, but post before the end of July, I will add an "After-Party" showcase as needed. It's a little different, but it will still feature participants that didn't quite get to make the event.
This is the last reminder; there will be one post a week or so ahead of time to tell people to get hype. If you have any questions or feedback, please feel free to comment below or DM. Until then, enjoy the summer!
P.S. I did receive feedback on some formatting about these posts so you may see the formatting change at some point. I hope that will make it easier to read.
