Well, today's the last day of November ...and I didn't get to all my November pencils/subjects, but that's ok ...because today I drew some wheat.
Yeah, it's just wheat in a field. C'mon, though---when was the last time someone on your watch list just drew some wheat in ACO scale? ...Exactly! :D
Actually, I started to draw the scarecrow character from Oz Kids when it occurred to me that scarecrows protect corn, not wheat. :p
So, apart from (perhaps) drawing a caricature of Sting as an Arthur character, I couldn't immediately attribute any characters to wheat fields (so, again, I just drew the wheat field).
It's the pencil that matters here anyway, so,
Pencil...
The featured pencil is the 'Wheatland' from L.B. Herr & Son. Much like the Perkins Bros Co. pencil featured with our Yakari ACO, this pencil was (likely) made for its respective office supply store rather than by it (though, again, I could be wrong).
I've seen WWII variants of the 'Wheatland', so this pencil line was around in the 1940s, and perhaps went back even further. Our featured specimen was probably made sometime in the 1950s or 1960s.
