Character Description
Cute bubbly female cat with magical and soothsaying powers through tarot cards. She is the newest member of the Pacific Northwest Council of Wizards and Witches. Her first day happen to coincide with Gwendolyn, The White Witch returning after rejuvenating herself.

Gabby made quite the first impression on everyone, including herself, by foretelling that Starwife Elysia would seek youth through Gwendolyn. It was just a simple tarot reading, one of those 'pick a card' tricks to introduce her powers to everyone. But the card picked by Elysia showed a young male skunk releasing a dove. He had a surprising likeness to Chucky. This led the council down a rabbit hole of discovery that revolved around Gwendolyn's experience with him and how she collected life's essence. More importantly for Gabby was an invitation of apprenticeship to Starwife Elyisia. Needless to say, her goals of expanding her magic abilities and learning more about the magical world are well within her grasp.

Gabby's magic abilities are rather substantial for her age. She is bonded to all of her magical items and can physically manipulate them with ease. She can perform all kinds of flashy tricks with her tarot cards for show and engagement. She is an accomplished flyer on her broom. Her wand works in conjunction with her cards depending on the type of tarot reading she is performing.
Personality
Enthusiastic, open minded, friendly. Gabby is always looking for new friends and knowledge  regarding her powers. Very extroverted, not afraid to show her emotions or share her opinions. Diplomatic, looks for the friendliest resolution to any disagreement while still standing her ground. Empathetic toward others.
Likes/Dislikes
Loves her friends, family, and social interaction. If there's a dance or a party, she'll be there. She loves the lore of tarot cards and fortune telling.

Dislikes bullies and killjoys. Boredom, but she's good at finding things to do in most situations.
Background/History
Gabrielle Rene Dulce was born on July 17, 6531 as the first child to Willy and Ming Dulce of Coos Bay, Cascadia. She was the most adorable little grey kitten with big green eyes and everlasting energy. Her brother, Chetter, was born two years later. Like most cats in town, Willy was employed in the timber industry for his climbing ability. This paid enough so Ming could stay home and raise their two kittens with love and structure.

Gabby and Chetter were academic in school, but endless balls of energy at home. They were normal kittens who wrestled, played with and destroyed any object they could, and explored endlessly.

When she was 5, Gabby invented a game called 'guess what?'. You were supposed to guess what she was thinking through various questions. At an autumn family gathering, the game was cute until everyone noticed that Gabby could 'guess what' after only one hint from whoever was 'it'. The whole family knew about their crazy Great GranFifi the fortune teller. Could Gabby have inherited her abilities? Ming's mother suggested showing Fifi's tarot deck to Gabby. Ming shuddered at the idea, she was uncomfortable with her daughter becoming some creepy carnival tarot reader.

This disagreement persisted for the next two years until Gabby was 7, when Ming finally relented. Great GranFifi's broom, wand, and tarot deck were brought to the Dulce's home as a Winter Solstice gift for Gabby. She reached out to pick up the broom and it flew into her hand. Everyone in the room gasped. "Well that answers our question." her grandpa said humorously. Gabby then proceeded to look through the tarot deck. As she moved the cards, everyone could see they moved in an 'unnatural' way, like the little kitten had some spell over them. It was settled, little Gabby had inherited her great grandmother's abilities.

The next day, Gabby's grandmother brought the ancient book that accompanied the tarot deck. Gabby became completely absorbed with her new deck and the meanings behind the cards, their combinations, and the different kinds of readings. The following summer when she was 8, Gabby's grandmother decided to open a booth at the beach-side carnival for her granddaughter to practice her tarot reading. It was supposed to be cheap fun. A tarot reading from an adorable kitten while the customer munched on roasted maple acorns or gull jerky. But Gabby wasn't a charlatan, and customers started getting angry at the truth. Their little venture lasted only a few weeks.

Ming's mother remembered a young man she'd met 30 years earlier. A sexy coyote from the desert, a trickster with a beautiful soul. His name was Yelis, her one indiscretion against her husband in a time of uncertainty. Yelis had recently become the newly elected mayor of Crooked Bend. She wrote him a letter concerning her granddaughter Gabby. The replay came a month later. Yelis would meet them on July 1st at the Coos Bay Summer Carnival.

Gabby was almost 9 when she met Yelis for the first time. It was emotional for her grandmother, but she remained stoic in Gabby's presence. Yelis had Gabby perform various tarot readings on himself, her grandmother, and their location. There was no question that she was a furture tarot reader and soothsayer. "Practice with the cards, the wand, and the broom. She must complete her normal schooling, and on the first equinox thereafter, have her fly on her boom to this location." He handed Gabby's grandmother an envelope with a wax seal.

Over the next 10 years, Gabby developed her own abilities. Her tarot reading was kept on the down-low, fun stuff with friends at parties. She figured out how to fly on her broom, zooming up and down the beach after dark, sometimes less than a foot above the crashing waves. She loved doing tricks with her cards using subtle magic, just enough so people did a double take.

On September 20, 6549, 18 year old Gabby left Coos Bay for Cooked Bend and her first meeting with the Pacific Northwest Council of Wizards Witches.
Relatives/Family
Great Grandmother: Fifi DeLong Ordel, deceased at age 93.
Father: Willy Mead Dulce, age 41.
Mother: Ming Jade Dulce, age 40.
Brother: Chetter Francis Dulce, age 16.

Extended family of grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins living throught Cascadia and California.
World/Setting
Set on planet Earth 50,000 years in the future. Current year is 6549(Year Zero was when time measurements switched from seasons to years.) At this time, parts of the world are experiencing an industrial revolution and cultural renaissance, others are still in the Middle Ages. Improvements in medicine and education have resulted in reduced death rates, but increased overpopulation problems due to lack of a sexual revolution.

Gabby lives in Cascadia, officially named December 25, 5680, but known as such for millennia prior. Geographically it borders the Pacific Ocean to the west, California to the south, Moratello to the east, and Sitka Region to the north. We know this area as Oregon, Washington, and the approximate southern half of British Columbia.  Dual capitals are Portland and Seattle, each run by opposing factions of otters and beavers. Official language is a mix of Old Intermountain and World Anthro. Industries are timber, minerals, fish, produce, and weapons. Standard of living varies. Residents of small towns live a Middle Ages version of middle class, but large cities are overcrowded and poverty is common.

The medium sized town of Coos Bay sits on the west shore of, well, Coos Bay. We know this place as Coos Bay, Oregon. Gabby lives in a small house with her family in the middle of town. Coos Bay benefits from a vibrant fishing and timber industry. Although self-sufficiency should keep Coos Bay independent of the Cascadian Government, the large loyal beaver population keeps the ties close. Most of the local timber barons are more than happy to have contracts with the government. This has brought much prosperity to the town, but along with it came an oppressive atmosphere of unquestioned loyalty and nationalism.

Cascadia is, in fact, two countries. A rivalry between North American River Otters and North American Beavers has been in play here for nearly 2000 years. Tribal for the most part, occasionally escalating to gangland style violence. But in the last few centuries, as the world started to shrink and money and political power came more into play, the two species began usurping positions in high places. Otters gradually took regions north of the Columbia River, Beavers taking the southern areas, hence the two capitals. Each group now has its own military and large conflicts happen every few months. International commerce has become difficult and confusing from lack of knowing what part of the Cascadian government one is working with. This has led to poverty and unemployment, thus unrest in many areas.

In the time of Chucky and the White Witch, Cascadia is a powder-keg waiting to blow. Two species that want to either rule over the other or wipe the other out. Some want separate countries, others want to keep Cascadia united with one species dominant. Desires vary even more among everyone else. Some loyal to otters, some loyal to beavers, some loyal to none. Many furs and religious organizations have benefited greatly from the divisions, especially financially and politically.

From an international point of view, Cascadia is on the verge of becoming a failed state,
with diplomatic and trade relations nearly impossible

On the page where she introduces herself she states that she's 18. You might be thinking of the page where she compares herself to Chucky as them both being teenagers as opposed to children.

I was just about to ask you about her colors. I personally didn't pt her in a pink witch's outfit, but I guess I can change it for canon's sake.

It is a lovely bio.  One question though.  If her deck came from her great grandmother, how is it that a card resembling Chucky was in it?

It's supposed to hint at the broader encompassing energy of the world. Even though the cards existed for over a hundred years, certain ones are drawn when the time is right. In this case, a young skunk connected Starwife Elysia to Gwendolyn, so this youth card was drawn. Had Chucky not been a skunk, the same card might have still been drawn as the symbol of male youth and vitality. I don't personally believe in this stuff, but it makes for fun writing.

I shutter to think what either the otters or beavers would / could do if they ever found out about the council and especially Gwyn or Elysia. And even more so what THOSE two would do if the governments threatened their family / friends!

On the other hand this is another outstanding picture / character sheet and I can't wait for you to do all of them. :D *winkwink!*

Thanks, they're coming along slowly. I tend to put these character sheets as a last priority to everything else, so I only work on them when I'm way ahead on comic pages. Their government coming after Elysia or Gwendolyn would result in one hell of a standoff. The same can be said for Count Lucas.
