I drew a full-body of Dogtanian yesterday, to atone for the headshots I've been scribbling as of late ...but I noticed I drew Dogtanan's sword in the wrong place (I drew it 'outside' his bandoleer, like a moron).
Luckily, only one watcher saw and fave'd the upload before I deleted it.

The original card has been ripped into pieces and replaced by ...a headshot. A headshot based on an animation cell, because quick and simple; I don't care enough about this character to give any more of my creativity or mind to him.

To summarize my last description (which has also been deleted),

I recently watched every episode (all 26) of 'Dogtanian and the Three Muskehounds' (DatTM).
DatTM starts out very strong, but loses momentum about nine episodes in ...and never recovers (in fact, the series progressively becomes sillier and more lackadaisical in its writing).

A prime example is Widimer. Widimer begins as an intimidating force to reckon with: he even shoots a character dead on the street (and we get to see it!) ...but, several episodes in, he becomes a hapless, bumbler: an inconvenient nuisance (kinda the like the way I remember Sergeant Garcia from the original 'Zorro' TV series: a threat, but hardly).

I also greatly dislike Pip. :p

Pip is like Donkey from 'Shrek' or Ninja Ninja from 'Afro Samurai': the annoying type who never shuts up but is tolerated and (in some cases) depended on by the protagonist. I truly dislike this sort of character and the writing that goes with them. :P

The Muskehounds (who don't refer to themselves as such, at least not in the English dub) aren't the most upright of characters, either. :P

Overall, my assessment of DatTM is ...not bad. The series is fine for what it is; nothing special about it; a few things to enjoy here and there (I guess).

On a fun note, just about every voice acter in this also played parts in Nippon's  'Grimm's Fairy Tale Classics'. This is esp. noticeable with Juliet, whose voice actress played like every princess ever! XD

Pencil...

A watcher claimed I'd not yet featured my beloved 'Zephyr' pencil from Wallace Pencil Co. Fact is, I did feature it ...but I probably deleted (or need to delete) the ACO I placed it with.
So to both show a 'Zephyr' and not be repetitive with my pencils (I have many hundreds of different pencils; I have no excuse to knowingly feature the same one more than once!), the featured pencil's a hitherto unfeatured variation of the 'Zephyr': the 'Paulson's Thin'. :3

Technically, the 'Paulson's Thin' is an ad pencil for some business from Worcester named 'Paulson's Inc'. I know nothing about the business. :P
There is a motorsport dealer in Worcester going by that name, but this pencil is decades old, so coincidence could be at play here (I really can't tell you).

To see the 'Paulson's Thin' next to a standard 'Zephyr' from my collection, click here: https://sta.sh/0wmvz45dbce

The 'Zephyr' is my favorite pencil to draw with, but it's not my all-around favorite. :3

In general, my favorite pencils to amass are paper/plastic-ferruled WWII pencils, esp. branded ones (ie, Eagles, Eberhards, Dixons and so forth).
My favorites for featuring are those with names that're easy to match with ACO subjects (and, of course, very rare ones: I won't drop good money on a pencil and not show it!).

I don't know if a WWII-era 'Zephyr' exists; I've never seen one and I don't know when Wallace began the 'Zephyr' line.

I've heard of the Muskethounds but never saw an episode of theirs. They sound sadly like all shows of that time. Starting out with a serious premise to try to get kids interested in the original source material only to realize they're losing viewers and ad revenue and change to what you described later. It rarely works and usually means the creators just gave up and hoped to make enough episodes to be syndicated.

I'd love to find a Zephyr just scrounging around like you do but alas I've been unlucky so far. I'll keep looking though.

Another question : You've shown my your AMAZING collection and I know it's truly vast but do you have any unusual pencils or do you not go in for "freaks" like the double color leads *a red and blue on either end* or the weird curvy ones I've seen occasionally.  My favorite of these freaks were the TINY and extremely thin (think toothpick) sized pencils that I cannot for the life of me remember what they're for.

Indeed, albeit, I believe a series like this is made a season at a time ...like, all 26 episodes are finished before it is aired (I'm unsure, though).

You mean like this?

Or like the Drumstick or the Landline? https://sta.sh/02eojsrfiqpx

I have a collection of oddities, but they're hard to feature.

I have a story about the Landline pencil.

A seller on eBay had a red one listed at $10,000. They believed it to be unique in all the world ...until I offered to sell them mine for $2500. XD They were fun to chat with.
They've since changed the listing to $175 ...the pencil is worth about $10. ^^

You've been posting these for over a YEAR??!!
O.O!

Holy crap. Talking about realization!

And yes those are excellent examples but the one I'm referring to would literally be if you took a toothpick, extended it JUST slightly and put a let inside it! It's TINY and useless for just about anything except being a novelty but it writes and can be sharpened if very carefully. I MIGHT have one somewhere and If IF I ever find it I'll let you know.

But now I have to go back and see just what I've missed in your truly awesome collection! :)

Pick your favorite size (the black one is a Dixon, and has a crucible!): https://sta.sh/01v7y7tn4ao2

Don't think I have a literal toothpick size though.

The "TIME" magazine one is the one I'm thinking of. It's not AS small as a toothpick but it got the idea across that it's a TINY pencil almost non existent. Thanks for digging those up. I KNEW you probably had something like it somewhere in your collection. :D

Unluckily, that watcher was not me :/ Oh, and you say you destroyed that one already? :(

Oh well.

I don't think I ever watched more than one, maybe two episodes of the DatTM, but I remember that it was much sillier than I expected from the Dumas' "Three Musketeers" spin-off.

Well, I found most of it: https://sta.sh/01b50ik7b03p

There was even a DatTM spin-off: The Return of Dogtanian. I clicked on a random episode; couldn't even get through it! XD

Sadly(?) I have not yet seen that series, though I notice your linked channel has it, I may have to set some time aside to look through it, once I've gone through all of Magical Hat and another series I shall not name for fear of frightening you.

Shiawase Apartments actually contains a stoat, but one episode has a weasel family. They're constantly endangered so you might like it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H9LaJ-2h9Mc

Now THAT'S what I'm talking about. None of these childish cartoons and drawings, what we're all REALLY here for.

Sweet, sweet, lead-bearing goodness. A fine specimen indeed. (It even has fanart but boy do you not want to see it.)

The Muskehounds... it was a series that simply did not have enough vision to carry it the distance. Even the name is half-baked. Muskehounds? I mean Mus-cat-eers would work but you weren't gonna be able to put a dog pun in there. Someone somewhere had some good ideas, but not enough. It's rare a show starts well and jumps the shark in its first season, but this one managed. It would have made a good movie, or a 13 episode run.
