Likely an attempt to draw the first meeting of Shaw (left) & Felix (right). A young Felix requests to sit next to Shaw, and Shaw happily agrees. Probably drawn sometime in 2001.

The speech bubbles are written in a "language" (really a simple cipher) called "Dreamspeak" I devised specifically for this series , under the logic that since it takes place many many millenia into the future (when people have essentially merged with machines and animals), they would have a completely different language. Likely it was also to disguise any dialogue from any would-be readers since I was quite secretive with my "Forbidden Series" (It was my first to feature queer characters and I was young and sheltered).

This is the third drawing of Felix. Taking inspiration from the second drawing this one sought to show a much younger Felix interacting with Shaw for the first time, likely in the outside play area of the orphanage they are from. Felix is probably intended to be canonically 3 years old here. At the start of the series their age is typically 6.
