I drew Scarlett from a screen shot (ie, her profile image) ...not that it matters as she rarely changes pose, anyway (plus it's sometimes fun to see how close to 'model' I can get). ^^
Scarlett is described officially thus,
"Scarlett is a red fox and Ranger Rick's best friend. She is smart and quick-witted. She knows a lot about wildlife and can take command of a situation in an instant. Scarlett is often frustrated with Boomer Badger's silly antics, but she is also sensitive and caring"
...I also found this fox fact from Scarlett. I think it's cute, so I'm including it here,
"A newborn fox is called a kit, cub, or pup. It weighs about the same as a stick of butter"
I could so make a comic from that. I imagine a young foxy having introduced his mom to his fiancee (whom Mom has heard so much about). After some girl talk, Mom brings out the photo album,
MOM: "Here's our boy when he was no bigger than a stick of butter!"
FOXY (blushing): "Mom!"
FIANCEE: [giggles]
Ok, I guess I got derailed. ^^
...Pencil
The featured pencil is a paper-ferruled, WWII-era '*Camp Fire Girls' sample ...with really, really worn-out paint. ^^

I promised you guys vintage pencils, and for the most part, I uphold that promise. But never once did I say every pencil would be perfect. ^^
As worse for wear as this pencil is (methinks it was rubbed together with another to make a fire), it's unsharpened (and will remain that way). Even so, in the spirit of Scarlett Fox, I have delineated her via an 'Evergreen' pencil from US Pencil Co (though the Evergreen is MUCH rarer, the ones I have are all sharpened and effectively ruined, so I don't mind using one). :3
Scarlett was drawn via a 'Zephyr' from Wallace Pencil Co (a pencil that may be older than RR). ^^
Speaking of, I've drawn dozens of (possibly more than a hundred) cards with this Wallace pencil (shown along with the 'Evergreen', for length comparison): https://sta.sh/01od62yck8f2
Not much remains (and, yes, I sharpen it with a razor blade), but it is my favorite pencil (the metal bit is a pencil extender from Dixon---it's over a century old). :3
Ah Ranger Rick. Only saw a few of his comics but they were better than most of their kind If I remember right. For some reason I don't remember Scarlet at all but you HAVE to trust a Fox with a STRIGHT RAZOR!! o.O!
Also a LEFT handed Camp Fire Girls pencil! That's a find! I DO remember the CFG's but at some point they just kind of faded away and I never heard of them again. Also don't apologize for warn pencils. They're perfectly fine if they have a good story behind them or have some history wear. :)

I had a stack of the magazines my grandmother got for me, from a yard sale---they went all the way back to the 1970s (albeit, it should be pointed out I got these in the 90s, when the 70s weren't so far away ^^).
CFGs are still around ...kinda. They're co-ed now and go by a different name.
