Ok, so I tried drawing Robot Man from 'Robot Man and Friends' ...and failed so miserably that I couldn't do anything for several days. :P
This time, however, I've drawn Poochie, from Jean Chalopin's (DIC's) animated 'Dear Poochie' special (1985) ...and failed miserably, only this time I don't really care! :D
...And, yes, I'll try drawing Robot Man again later (a watcher I trust diagnosed the problem I was having), but for now, we must return to Poochie. :3
...The premise is an odd one. Basically, Poochie is a famous dog in the human world (New York, specifically) who runs an advice column in a popular paper/magazine (which, is seemingly published internationally).
Most who write Poochie are in need of commonsense advice, but ...some write Poochie when they need real-world rescue (in this case, a boy on the run from kidnappers in Cairo).
I guess Poochie is an unofficial Rescuer/Rescue Ranger. ^^
Anyway, Poochie is more than willing to help, and has the assistance of her android, Hermes (who is nice enough, albeit a bit of a coward ...and looks a lot like C3P0). :P
Anyway, story happens and the boy is saved (sorry, not writing any reviews today ...saving my energy for 'Dot and the Bunny'). :p
...Pencil
The featured pencil is hard to read here (it didn't scan very well) as it's a reflective, shiny gold pencil ...from Kate Spade, New York!
This pencil is from Spade's 'Et Cetera Et Cetera' collection. I dunno much about it beyond this (mine is unsharpened, so I've not tested it ...and I'm not going to).
I think I might have heard of Poochie but never saw the cartoon! Gonna have to check it out just cause. Regardless Poochie looks cute in your style even if she was a pain in the ass for you to draw. :)
That really DOES say Kate Spade. I originally thought it might have been an accidental misspelling of LAKE Spade and was about to look it up to see what Wiki said about it. I probably will anyway just cause I'm curious about the name.

I don't know whether or not I ever saw this, or even heard of it. But, this special is so unapologetically 80's the overall tone and tropes are familiar. The music, the animation style, random futuristic stuff, clumsy CGI, and cutesy characters. And of course the effects of the footage coming from a VHS tape. (blurry discolored footage and hissing audio with occassional bars of static.) It's the same with that Kingdom Chums special. It's possible but unlikely I saw it during the 80's, but even if I have not it's overall feel is very familiar.
Also your drawing is okay btw.
