Yes, yes, I know I shouldn't be drawing these characters---it's lazy and absolutely no one wants to see them. I'm just in one of my phases right now (it's the moon in me, I guess), but I'll get over it before too long (hopefully).
In the meanwhile, we have Baby Fox from the PBS series 'Peg + Cat'.
I think 'Peg + Cat' is supposed to be educational ...I mean, it's on PBS, and the character's are all drawn against graph paper (a paper ed'u'muh'kayted folk use) ...I should have drawn this ACO on graph paper. Hindsight, I guess (I do too much guessing---I should be more assertive ...I should be a lot of things). :P
The featured pencil is of a type I've hitherto not featured on One-Cent ACO: a self-sharpening pencil, AKA a china marker. ^^
China markers are in the crayon family. They are wax sticks bound in paper. The paper has a string attached that one pulls to 'sharpen' the pencil, hence 'self-sharpening'. The china marker gets its name from one of its intended purposes: to write on china/porcelain, as well as glass and other tricky surfaces.
This specimen is from Blaisdell Pencil Co, and has a patent date stamped on it. It's very hard to read, but I interpret it as,
Now, I'm unsure exactly how old this pencil is: 1895 is simply a patent date, albeit, I cannot imagine Blaisdell kept this stamp very long.
From Bob Truby,
"Founded in 1893, Blaisdell Pencil Co. was based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and had a short stint in England, too. Founder Frederick Blaisdell was granted a U.S. patent in 1895 for the shelf-sharpening paper-pencil. Until about 1946, Blaisdell was the sole manufacturer of a pencil with a string sharpening feature. The company became a subsidiary of Eagle Pencil Company around the 1930s, and eventually merged with Berol"
We're not that far off in age (if I remember one of the comments in a past pic) and I feel terrible that I can't remember or haven't heard of half the things you are drawing about. It's not you... I guess I was either not that into cartoons back when or just focused too much on Cartoon Network to care about anything else. Heck, I don't even remember seeing Fox Kids until I was a teen.
*Hides face in shame*
I think someone will definitely like this pic. :3 We're not that far off in age (if I remember one
Because the subject is a bit too simplified. Though it's not quite the style, it's not far from that 'bean-mouth' style that some (like myself) find distasteful.

I know. Like, I won't even attempt a Hello-Kitty character. The size and precision spacing of the eyes and nose are not something one can fudge in the slightest.
