Seems the cubs are ready for a game of two-on-two basketball ...I wonder how it will begin!
PANEL 1
MIMI (flirty): "Sorry I'm late--I was updating my basketball shirt. What do you think, Gene?"
PANEL 2
GENE (nudging Tasli): "It's cool, Mimi---I don't think I've ever seen your belly button before!"
TASLI (winking at Gene): "Me neither---I could stare at it forever!"
MUBBA (innocently): "I like belly buttons!"
PANEL 3
MIMI (irritated): "Oh so funny! I didn't ask anyone about my belly button! I wanted GENE'S opinion on my shirt---no one cares about belly buttons!"
[The boys look sheepishly away, though I don't think they're sorry at all]
PANEL 4
[The boys return their focus to Mimi's belly button, much to Mimi's chagrin]
PANEL 5
MIMI (incensed; flailing) "STOP LOOKING AT MY BELLY BUTTON!!"
PANEL 6
[The boys share a laugh; Mimi blushes at the thought of her outburst]
And in case someone doesn't get the comic, the cubs have no special interest in belly buttons---the boys were just trying to annoy Mimi (a consequence of Mimi asking Gene for his opinion). ^^
The featured pencil is the stub of a Palomino 344, Blackwing.
Now, I don't care much for the Palomino Blackwings---I'm a pencil snob, so for me it's the Eberhard-Faber (EF) 602 or nothing, insofar as Blackwings are concerned. But, then, I found this Palomino stub ...and another like it, as well as most of a Palomino 602 AND an actual EF 602 stub, at the scrap! :D
I'm not an idiot---I wasn't going to leave those stubs in the bin. :P For the record, every Palomino I have came from the scrap, save for one. Only once did I buy a Palomino at retail (the 'Woody Guthrie' Blackwing), just to say I had an unsharpened specimen.
I've mentioned the EF Blackwing before---the Palomino tries to continue the EF's legacy ...a fact I 'should' appreciate it for, I just don't ...for some reason. :P
Anyway, fellow pencil collector Bob Truby likes Palominos, and offers some of the many, many, MANY variations on his site ...including the featured one,
"Sep 2016 The 6th in the “Volumes” series of limited edition Blackwing pencils, the Blackwing Volumes 344 celebrates the 80th anniversary of this historic *photo and the artistic legacy Dorothea Lange left behind. The pencil features firm graphite"
*yeah, I don't see any photos either (as of 02/28/2022)
$18 for a modern-day pencil... *shrugs* Ok; is it any good?
Well, I drew this comic with a Mitsu-Bishi, but delineated the line art and wrote the captions with the Palomino 344.
...The 344 is *sigh* an excellent pencil. :p
It's suited more for writing than for art (unless you're a master cartooner who can draw very, VERY fast and accurate; like the EF 602, this is a serious pencil)! The drag is akin to sliding butter across the surface of a hot skillet; this is a pencil designed for speed writing.
That said, one will burn through a pencil like this fairly quick.
So ...has my mind changed about the Palomino? No; my feelings remain; feelings are irrational, after all. I concede Palomino is good, but I'll stick to the EF 602 for my speed-writing needs (which is a $50 discontinued pencil ...so you can guess how often I use one). XD
As for art, I like the Zephyr models offered (decades ago) by Wallace Pencil Co. Mitsu-Bishi and Tombow pencils are also fantastic, still in production (as of writing), and are at least as good as the Palomino (and lack the collectibility, so are also much less pricey ...in general). ;3
In your attempt to seem wise, you forget that's exactly what I do. :3
IB is my NSFW dumpster ...not that I make much NSFW stuff, for the very reason that I will post it here only. Additionally (and more importantly), I'm not THAT interested in naughty art. :3

You're the one who brought up this comic being sfw enough for fa. If you are so wise you would also know you could make an nsfw version for ib. But that doesn't interest you.

My only concern : Is she an Inny or an Outy! Hard to tell from this angle! ;D
Also those are the replaceable eraser versions! Nice. Do you have any replacement's if you use one up / lose one? How do they stack up to Black Magic's cause they sound like they'd be nice to use!
