Stormy the witch
Water amidst the flora
YCH commission from Sorako featuring Stormy~

Drifting through the seas upon a boat, you wander the open oceans aboard a Treskrian ship, with a countless amount of naga, kobolds and raptors all manning the vessel. After so many years, sentimentality towards leviathan and the surface dwelling reptiles have been highly positive, due in no small part to the efforts of a certain leviathan who once was male, but became female through an untold amount of effort and time. With the change, she eventually came to be known as a queen, and the sea followed suit, with the new leader of the sea dwelling dragons.

But that story was many ages old, and envoys from each side trade with one another openly. With the transport vessel out in the deep oceans, the ship housing many different items consisting of land dwellers stoneworks and beautiful precious stones, the crew were excited to collect some of the many unique items that the leviathan held in high regard. Memory crystals, mirror coral, and untold amounts of long thought extinct fish, all items thought lost to time but in ready supply for the leviathan, were all items that the land dwelling reptiles of Treskia were happy to involve in their daily lives. How the leviathan were able to use such odd items, as well as invoke such magics, none of the land dwellers understood, however they were welcome in their lives all the same.

You however, were not here to trade with them, but rather see the leviathan with your own eyes. While comics and stories always showed them in entertainment, being damsels in distress, peaceable shamans that save travelers within the depths of the sea, or users of odd magics none understood, it was always one thing to read about them, and a whole different thing to see one in person.

However, in mere moments, the clear sky gave way to a conclave of storms. Thunder and wind wracked the open seas, with the ship tossing and turning in the harsh waves. Still, the large vessel stood strong, powering through the storm as any metal vessel would, with the helm parting the sea as if to declare itself the master.

Thus, you remained confident, knowing little would likely sway the boat in any direction, as you looked out over the railings and into the waters clouded by storm clouds. This was the mistake made however, as a single bolt of lightning struck the ship with a powerful crash, shifting it to the side! In moments, the beautiful view was swept from sight, and to replace it, the metal hull of the ship, with the bars once thought to grant safety, quickly moving away from you!

Falling down into the cold waters below, the thunder and rain were the least of your worries, as you fought desperately to stay afloat within the deep ocean currents. The waves from the ship, coupled by the wracking of the storm continued to see you drift further and further out to sea, as your legs began to give out, and with it, any faith in your chance of survival.

Resigning to your fate, slowly relaxing your body to allow for the hypothermia to kick in, you begin to float out to sea, darkness overtaking you until in your view, the site of a horned serpent swam towards you at a rapid pace that only one who dwells within the sea would be able to do.

The expression and body were hard to figure identify before blacking out, but as you slowly began to drift towards your end, towels and heaters covered you, with shouts and praises all booming out around you. With a gradual process, as you awoke, you found yourself upon the ship once more, surrounded by the crew and a long, serpentine blue reptile that you had read about.

"A leviathan!"

The outburst caused everyone to look towards you, some hugging you and others clearly grateful that you were ok. As others came around you, the leviathan that had saved you pulled itself forward before bowing to you, as they rose their head and began to speak in a worried tone akin to that of a mother to her child.

With a heartfelt thanks from being saved, the captain made a point in introducing you to the leader of the leviathans and queen of the oceans...Stormy herself. With a beautiful form, long and slender, a coral red horn atop her head and reflective scales adorning her back reminiscent of the ocean itself, the sailors tried their best to get her to not bow to you, though she herself would have none of it, and proceeded to treat you much like one would a servant to their master.

But none of that mattered much to you, standing in awe of not only a leviathan, but the leader of them all herself. Despite the near death, perhaps this moment made up for it.
