These are some of the cars the family passes by at a 30 mph speed difference.

The tanker car is among the cars that are marked up with graffiti, which is typical in the 21st Century.
Back in 1960, you didn't see railroad cars marked up with graffiti.

And unfortunately they were abandoned being cleaned pretty quickly.      It cost too much.   There'd be graffiti back on em quick enough.

They didn't have spray cans so much then (coming out). Vandalism and graffiti was still an issue though.
