Mubba thinking that $100 bill was worth a pencil, bottle opener and a bottle cap reminds me of 10 seconds of the these lyrics to a Steely Dan song I've heard in the 1970s. https://youtu.be/GaH25Sghoqc?t=33

Gene's statement does not reflect the views of the artist!
I laughed at this.
I don't think Gene should be saying anything seeing as his perception of $100 is buying a house or a car. I don't think spending $100 on a pencil is that far off. And I mean, common, it's not every day that you find a pencil that has a bottle cap opener on it.
It's really cute that as far as Mubba sees it, he looked in a day going through a trashcan and ended up with a really cool pencil. Ah, to be as carefree as Mubba lol.

I mean, I can dig up a lot more, a LOT more. So much stuff gets thrown out accidentaly, lost or flushed. (Enough that the metals dumped in sewage by a million people is easily worth TEN MILLION dollars: https://www.science.org/content/article/sewage-sludge-c... )
Alright when you put it that way. I suppose I fixated too much on the specifics of the comic and your example. Broadly speaking, so much is thrown out by so many people that of the many other people out there that one of the them is going to find something valuable in the trash. Yeah, clumsily phrased, but I think you got through to me.

He's a YouTuber who's famous for giving large sums of money away.
The soda bottle in the rubbish bin Mubba was riffling through had yellow jackets inside, seeking sugar (but there wasn't much left). I thought, perhaps, someone (say, Mr. Beast) came alopng earlier, felt sorry for the insects, and threw money at the problem.

Wish I could get that lucky and find 100$ notes in the trash. Though, I have found stuff in the trash that ARE worth money. That could easily make me 100$ or more. So hey, that's a 100$ profit or more if I decide to sell some of the stuff I found lol.
And lol, a car or house for 100$. Definitely a toy car or house. But the real deal.......VERY rare thing if that happens lol. However, I will say that the majority of MY real cars, I actually got for the delightful cost of "Free 99" lol. That's right! Whether I traded them, or I was able to get them for free. But so far, out of 5 vehicles I've had so far, 4 of them were free lol. One I had to pay 300$ for. But the others were either traded, or given to me. But anyways, 100$ for a car CAN be possible lol

I refer to selling things found in the trash or bought cheap from the thrift as 'spinning straw into gold' (a reference to the story of Rumpelstiltskin).
...Indeed. :3

Haha, totally! There's stuff I have that I got for free, that I could actually sell if I wanted to. Some could bring in BIG money too. Like I have a computer that I got for free, from getting scrapped. And apparently, it's worth over 1,000$........? Imagine if I tried to sell it lol. But right now, I love it too much to let it go haha.
And yeah :3 I will say too, that I've payed over 100$ for toy cars before. Because they were collector's edition items. But I wanted them lol. Funny I payed more for toy cars, than ACTUAL real life cars lmao

Do you really? Lmao so do I! That's awesome lol. Yeah I'm aware they aren't worth much right now. But who knows, they might be worth something in the future lol
