For the past few months, me and a bunch of friends have been enjoying a D&D campaign hosted by :linkNextGenAnubisKid: we’ve titled Legends From Larkanum: The New Horizon Era. Larkanum being the homebrow world our history buff DM cooked up. And that inspired me to get a few pics of our party getting up to shenanigans. Next up is the humble bard Ankh, and my “spirited” monk Rokuro:
-Ankh of Nekheb: Yuan-Ti/Naga Eloquence Bard. Ever polite and charming, Ankh already was a small hero in his hometown thanks to an incident where he distracted a group of bandits with his music so the guards could sneak in and take them by surprise. But fortunately, the snake-man has always kept a humble disposition. Despite always introducing himself as being from Nekheb, Ankh has no memory of his childhood or how he got to the town. How mysterious…
-Rokuro Hideki: Wildhunt Shifter, Astral Self Monk. Decades ago, a thriving community of the mysterious bestial Shifters, the were-touched, lived in the woods nearby Shiro Lagoon. While they preferred their seclusion, their relationship with the Nihonian harbour town was a pleasant one. Traders were happy to exchange goods and both settlements were ready to aid each other in times of need. That was until the Shifter village was suddenly attacked by a horde of creatures from the Shadowfell. Their invasion was so swift, when the warrior monks of the lagoon's monastery arrived, they could only save a dozen from the utter annihilation. In the following years, the survivors found a new existence in Shiro Lagoon, allowing the sole remaining infant to be adopted by the monk order of the Yurei No Michi. As fortune would have it, Rokuro Hideki took quite well to his new upbringing, becoming the sixth student to be mentored in both life and martial arts by the kind and wise Master Hideyoshi, who gifted him with this new name. His heightened Shifter senses giving him an edge in Rokuro's daily training and sparring routines, growing in strength and skill with each passing year. But underneath the enthusiasm, kindness and wit, master Hideyoshi sensed a restlessness in Rokuro, a lack of focus and purpose that stunted his growth where his peers were starting to tap into their mystical inner energies, known as Ki. Rokuro always felt like the Yurei No Michi order was his real family, the tragedy of his original village a tale from the past he was too young to remember. But he trusted his master's judgement that perhaps it was time to set out on a journey of self-discovery. Travel the world in search of new knowledge, cultures, skills, and allies. Master Hideyoshi's parting words tasked his pupil to wander with an open mind, help out where could and train diligently, discovering the powers resting within him and perhaps one day, his own destiny.
