Unfinished Ronno Sketch
No, I can't draw ovals (or in general, but that's beside the point ...I think)

This is the little badger boy from 'The Penny': a 70's cartoon short from 'Soyuzmultfilm' (I won't even try to pronounce that).

The story is about a little badger who happens upon a penny, lying on the ground. Rather than spend the penny, the badger seeks to find its owner.
Of course, he's criticized by the other animals for his morality, and is even tempted to spend it on ice cream ...I wish I could buy ice cream for a penny (but I digress).
In the end, the badger finds the penny's owner, and is rewarded (with what I guess is) a piece of fruit. ^^

EDIT: According to my friend Spiny5: https://www.furaffinity.net/user/spiny5/

"The pencil is worth the same coin from the cartoon, ц5k - price 5 копеек"

...Priceless!

The cartoon my be viewed with English subtitles here (link tested 04/17/2021): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XpFncIjfPPA

TRIGGER WARNING: This is a Soviet cartoon from a different time ...there is a single instance of an offensive slur used by one of the badger's antagonists that some may be offended by. Just be aware of its presence before you click.

Anyway, I think our badger friend may have found another penny, but judging by his pose, he may be thinking of keeping this one (but I'm sure his conscious will win in the end). :3

I drew the badger via my Zephyr and delineated him via this hand-painted 'birchwood' pencil.
I have several of these, each with variations in the placement of the stripes and (what I guess is) grass.
These pencils are hard; they aren't much darker than my Zephyr. ^^

The drag is rough, but the line erases cleanly; weight is good.

Despite the paintwork, these are (insofar as the quality of their utility) cheap school pencils. ^^

Very cute little guy :3 I also went ahead and checked out the video. It's a shame there's only one episode (from what I can tell anyway) of that series. It looks like a cute cartoon if you ask me. But I can see why maybe it might not be fit for children under 10 maybe. The words they say are kinda bad for young children lol

Yeah, that's the unfortunate thing. I try to think of it in both 'time and place' as well as context (these are animal characters, so the term had a more literal-interpretation intention/application). Doesn't excuse it though.

Another character that you drew which is actually better than the original.

I apprecite it, though I'm sure the animator could draw circles around  most of us, esp. me.
