SYNOPSIS:
Jonah questions his own sanity as his "folks" consider to quarrel. Ultimately he comes to the conclusion that he can not chose to be sane and resigns himself to the fact that he will not be able to rest his mind until he has solved the "problem". Based on Jonah's thoughts it appears the "problem" is deciphering Jonathan's various interactions with him and determining what his actual intentions were ...

COMMENTARY:
This page seemed to clip along easily. I actually wasted the first 30 minutes with a false start. I didn't like how the first panel turned out so I did it again. Even though panel 4.1 was exactly what I was going for it was good enough to continue. This is going to be a long story and it's going to involve a lot of pages. I have never attempted anything on this scale before. Always assumed it was impractical. That being said if I'm realistically going to make progress I can't be too fused with the art. I'm no professional, but if I wait until all the art is perfect I'll be here 'til I'm 80. So I'm simply trying to make sure the art is servicable and consistent enough. This way I can maybe finish this in a reasonable amount of time. This is a learning experience for me. I've never made anything (comic book wise) of this scale, although I've thought of doing such things. I am not yet experienced enough to maintain consistency or always achieve the pose, expression, or actions I want, but I'm only going to learn by doing. I figure as this comic continues I will probably improve. For me the priority here is to the deliver the story, the art is somewhat secondary. Why not just write it out then? Because I wanted to create the story visually so people could "see" it. Speaking of writing it, I am in fact writing a complete transcript which is ahead of the actual comic pages. This let's me know where I'm going and not forget key lines of narration. Because it takes so long to draw even a single page (also keep in mind I need to find the time to do it, there's sleeping and work to consider as well) it allows me to get WAAAAY ahead of the comic in terms of story. This has given me an interesting advantage. These early pages reference many things that are much later in the story. There are lots of clues and little details to notice. Hopefully with each page the story is subtly advanced ... just a little (no room for filler in this story, it's already very long). Here this page raises to important questions (1) how sane is Jonah? and (2) what was the nature of Jonah's relationship with Jonathan (note that he has of yet not said his name yet).
