This. Was. HARD!

Not the drawing---no, Fred (right) and Sam (left) were easy enough in that respect ...what was difficult was delineating them with a 6B pencil! D:

I drew these two mice (from Atkinson Film-Arts animated version of 'The Tin Soldier') with a vintage 4H Zephyr pencil. I went over the 4H's nearly impossible to see lines with this 6B pencil from Tombo.

...And, yes, I drew Sam in a pose inspired by Chip the Cookie Dog (because I thought the idea was funny). :P

Anyway...

The 6B lead is very, very soft. This particular pencil is used in the making of calligraphy---it's not meant for cartooning, especially on the small, ACO scale I draw at! XD

Even so, the 6B Tombo is a handsome pencil, with its white stripe against its brilliant blue paint. :D

Still, the end result of this card is imperfect; you can yet see some of my original draw lines (I was afraid to erase them----this card will smear much easier than most. ^^

Thx! :D

They're in two distinct styles, but that's how they were. Likely, each had a dedicated animator assigned to them, who drew in their style.

Of the two, I found Fred the least intuitive.

With your style, I'm surprised you've never drawn any chipmunks

The species in general or from Alvin? lol

I've considered drawing the Rescue Rangers, if that counts (I liked the NES game as well as the series).

Actually, I think Alex is a chipmunk, if memory serves: https://inkbunny.net/s/2117929

I mean the critter style chipmunk from the Alvin and the Chipmunks movies. I think you could do them fantastic. Would pay to see...oh right LOL. (Also kinda I mean the species in general. We munks get no love 🥺) also faved that pic you linked

Thx!

...I may indeed draw from the 80's Alvin series. I recall the kitten episode, which would be good for review, if I should do those again ...I also REALLY like 'The Chipmunk Adventure' movie. ^^

The CG film ...I've seen only the first one. I didn't hate it at all, but I thought the guy playing Dave was bringing it down.

The kitten episode was the one episode that made me almost renounce my love for the Chipmunks. When I saw that, I was quite upset for at least two weeks. Had to get deep within myself and decide whether to lay down the mantle of fanship or endure.
Jason Lee isn't as cheerful or nurturing as in the cartoons, but he has a good dynamic because in the first movie it's trying to be realistic and he conveys the difficulties of being an adult and also having kids, trying to be a good dad as well as a fun dad. Sorry, that movie has all kinds of different meanings to me

Yeah, that episode is definitely not for everyone. ^^

I liked it well enough. :3

It's all good---there are movies I like that few others do: Tiny Heroes (1997) is an example. :3

It was hard for me to deal with the fact that they wrote Alvin as being so selfish that he caused the death of their pet. However, I have decided to denounce that episode as not being canon. Someone HAD to have been drunk when writing it.
Never heard of that movie

I'd make fun of it, really *shot multiple times*

I better quit while I'm ahead. ^^

The movie was the niminal sequel 'The Seventh Brother: a story about a puppy 'adopted' by a family of rabbits.
Both it and Tiny Heroes was produced in either Germany or Hungary, and dubbed into Engilsh for distribution by Feature Films for Families ...a distributor that was shut down for its aggressive (and apparently illegal) telemarketing operation. ^^
