This rabbit is NOT Petroshka, but another rabbit character I made a few years ago but didn't do much with. None the less there was a concept and a potential series behind this piece.
The characters don't have names, but the Rabbit was meant to be a Sherlock Holmes like detective. He's young (probably 18-22), highly intelligent (IQ 160 at least), very cultured, well dressed, graceful, and playfully flirtatious. He's a boy genius who excels in solving the crime ... but not necessarily bringing those responsible to justice. For that, he has his rough and tough partner, the Wolf, He's the one who would actually chase down and tackle the culprit to the ground, or exchange bullets if need be. Rabbit's the brains, and Wolf's the muscle. That is not to say Wolf is an idiot, or that he is all work and no play. Wolf however finds the Rabbit's presense "confusing" and prefers to hide any real feelings under a thick exterior of "staying focused on work". For Rabbit's part, he is not shy about showing that he feels close to Wolf.
In this picture we see a little bit of this dynamic. They are both standing very close to each other, clearly in each others personal space, and yet they are faced away like they won't acknowledge it. Rabbit has a sly glance to his partner, while wolf looks towards his lighter with a slightly irritated look, trying his best to focus on something else. Wolf has a reputation as very reliable, honorable, and never takes his job lightly. This however is partially a cover to keep his feelings for his partner to himself.
That's the general idea, Sherlock Holmes meets light homoerotic tensions. Whacha think?
As to when this piece was made, it doesn't have a date, but I estimate it is sometime between 2014-2020 based on some clues.
