It is July 23rd, 1960, and Sheldon Wolf is delivering a load of new cars in route to New Mexico...as the classic Mack bulldog hood ornament leads the way. The front of the rack that carries a car over the semi tractor is lit up by the headlights. This is a dangerous curve between Denver and Antonito, which is well known as to the animals who travel this route...Many of the truck drivers refer to that curve as "Carnage Curve". As you can see on the speedometer, 40 mph is as fast as anyone with good common sense would take that curve. Where Sheldon Wolf is shown driving in the drawing, if Sheldon was to stop the truck, and you were to open the passenger's door and step out, you would step out over a sheer drop of several hundred feet straight down.
Pic # 3 In this pic is that same curve during daylight hours...As can be seen, there is no room for mistakes doing anything stupid.
Pic # 4 This is a clothed version, in where Sheldon Wolf is wearing a pair of olive green work pants, and a white T-shirt.
Pics #5, #6, and #7 are the pics of the 10 mile, hilly straightaway prior to arriving to Carnage Curve from the north. #5 and #6 are clothed and furclad versions. #7 is a closer view of the road ahead.
The description in the submission linked below has more details;
However, There was a song that was playing on the truck's radio while Sheldon was driving along several miles of hilly straightaway well before Carnage Curve. The long straightaway had a few abrupt hill crests that when you topped over them at the normal 50 and 60 mph, there was a floating sensation that made you feel like you had butterflies in your gut...That straightaway had the reputation of being a stretch of road that teenagers like to high speed thrill ride on. The song was the opening theme song from the 1958 movie, The Blob, which was a three minute version for radio that looped only the instrumental portion at the first half of the opening theme; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HCtcgI4BcIQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XzHDvzGmmw0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AK5jyVCdXwc
ANOFFER If any of you want to use copies of the infamous "Carnage Curve", or drawings of the same curve, as a background for some of your own ideas, stories and artwork, you have my permission to do so. Perhaps someone has an OC who gets a little crazy and does something dare devilish... ...Or several teenage characters playing a game of chicken. Moyomongoose
Sheldon uses which ever channel is getting a good signal at the time...And also channels that have good speed trap info where he is driving along straight level highways.
I appreciate the comment and fave...Thanks. Sheldon uses which ever channel is getting a good signa
I would love to go for a ride with him but my cloths wouldn't stay on for long and I'd have my arms around him the whole time, I hope he's enjoy my cuddles while driving.
