A re-do of a another character from Demordicai Diamonds though this time around her previous concept wasn't as ridiculously outdated as other characters (the last one I drew was in August 2011).
May Autumntail (her maiden name is Sunbrook) is not a native of Aspen Village, originally hailing from the nearby local village of Mossrock. May is getting on in her elder years, being fifty five years old at the very start of Demordicai Diamonds. She comes from a fairly well-off family, her mother being a housewife and her father a successful merchant. While her two brothers worked alongside her father, May stayed at home with her mother and learned the skill of sewing and quickly developed a talent and a passion for it.
May's first love was a wealthy jewel merchant and they had a relationship for several years but he traveled long distances and the time they spent apart started to eat away at their relationship. Amid rumors of her beloved's infidelity, she eventually separated. Not too long after, she met another wealthy fellow by the name of Cornelius Autumntail who was more of an investor than an actual merchant. They fell in love and a relationship slowly grew. After several years, they eloped out of Mossrock and married in secret against her father's interests.
After getting married, May and Cornelius traveled the world. May would continue her sewing craft on the road and sell her clothes in the towns she would travel through. Eventually, May and Cornelius returned back to the island of Relma but shortly after getting there they heard of the troubles of Aspen Village which had been raided by what was presumed to be bandits. Concerned, both May and Cornelius went check out the damages and help those in need. They fell in love with the village and helped raise the children that were spared by the raiders. One in particular, a young adolescent vixen named Juna, was adopted by May and her husband.
Time passed and May set up her clothing shop in Aspen Village, making good business with her wares. Now getting in her older age, May is well known for her clothes and her prim and proper attitude. Washing out foul mouths with soap is a daily task for her and she does tend to have a temper when dealing with those of a more outwardly promiscuous nature.
In the winter months, May and Cornelius often go vacationing leaving the island of Relma. They don't travel as far as they used to but they do travel further down south to warmer climates to escape the cold.
A particular quirk about her, May loves to pick flowers (only proper flowers and not weeds will do) and walk barefoot down old forest trails though she is very private about these excursions.
May often comes off as a prudish, aging vixen with stern opinions on habits, hobbies, and past times but she is kind at heart. She will eventually make her appearance in Demordicai Diamonds toward the end of the first story-arc.
