A couple days ago I noticed that my ol 12x19 inch wacom intuos3 actually fits inside the keyboard tray of my desk 0_0 Unfortunately, it was really unstable to draw on once I pulled it out. So I made some hinged legs for it that fold up and stick to the bottom with hard drive magnets and some steel bars that I had screwed into the legs. It made a loud "CLACK!" sound ^///^ But what I couldn't get used to was having to move my keyboard and monitor forward just to draw. I tried with it in the original position but it just felt so far away.
So I took the tray and tablet out and put them back in the corner. Tried using the 6x11 intuos3 with glass on top of it (again), but it was too slippery (imagine that hah!). Tried it with just bare plastic and it was a lil better....but the way it multiplied my hand movements made it feel too sensitive to draw anything accurately.
At that point I just got out some paper and tried to draw the same thing I'd drawn on screen. It was a world of difference! My lines were much more accurate and it was very easy to make the marks I wanted. Kinda blows my mind that it takes so much time to learn how to draw on a regular tablet and how easy it is to lose it after some experience of traditional drawing (even on a cintiq) again!
