Prompt used: ... not really any??? See below for details
Hello dreamers! Have an early concept for Aletheia (character) and Akasha (place). Both will need more review, especially the latter, but eh it's a start.
One of the 'tobers or another had "Costume" as a prompt for today. That reminded me that some of my characters have had influences added from fairytales. Aletheia here has had influence from Little Red Riding Hood, which might bite me since I have no idea how to get her ears into the goddamn hood, at least not in a way that she can hypothetically put her hood down or up as she likes.
I love lil' Aletheia but she gives me a lot of problems which is why I haven't drawn her more often. • The hood-ears thing. • She's a white bunny, and they're kind of boring, so I don't know what I want to do with her colors. That's why the gratuitous blue is on her ears. Not sure if I like it • She's blind, and I have no idea how to communicate that without scaring everyone with the whole "not looking at you" thing that photos of blind people have. The best I can do for now is give her real pale eyes? And have her make tons of blind jokes? I'll work on it once I've finetuned her outfit. • Aletheia has two weapons / items that piss me off to draw: tarot cards and a magic orb. I tried the cards last time and the orb this time.
She'll definitely get a Redux someday.
Allie's standing in a super proto fetus version of Akasha, which is the magic time place. I'm not sure how this happened, but I had already conceived of Akasha as looking vaguely like this before I played A Hat in Time, in which the Time Rifts' white-with-blue-crystal appearance is almost exactly what I want for Akasha. Maybe we both got it from the same source?? I don't remember where I originally got it from, but I do know it was influenced by the Neon City from Trove, back when Trove was worth playing (if indeed it ever was.) I'll put some effort into a proper Akasha design later, no time now lol
