I've brought Seer back and would like to explain how it works this time.
Early Access is not time-based!
• You can get Early Access through Patreon or through Commissio. The exact same pictures will be on both! Please do not subscribe to both unless you really want to. • There will be 3~5 pictures in Early Access at any time. • Patreon Seers will also see dev posts on all them games I'm supposed to be making. (I don't know if this is possible in Commissio at this time.) • When I draw a new picture, one of the Early Access pictures will be published to my relevant other accounts (see my 📇 Carrd). There is no scheduled publish on them, it's just whenever I draw and post a new image (+ the dev posts thing.) • If I draw something that I don't think is allowed on Patreon, I'll publish it right away, skipping Early Access.
I was originally going to use pixel art for my Patron tier headers for several reasons.
1. Patreon header tiers are a very small image size, a relatively easy task for pixel artists. 2. Patreon header tiers should look impressive, and I find it easier to add detail to pixel art than to vector art (as you might have noticed.) 3. I wanted to reaffirm that I'd rather be making wicked retro video games than hot furry porn. (I will gladly do both if allowed.)
As such, the $1.00 Companion tier still has a pixel art header (which is honestly unfinished)... but do you notice that it looks blurry and screwed up? Right, Patreon ruins pixel art even if it's exactly the recommended size and I forgot to test for that with a simpler image before putting all that work in. Oops!
So the Seer tier now has a proper vector image (on Patreon, at least) and I'll have to do one for the Companion tier sometime too.
Anyway, here's Aletheia and her magical card things.
Aletheia (Allie for short) is a blind seer. I don't remember why I chose for her to specialize in tarot cards, but I find them the most dynamic out of the prophecy-type powers because they move around. Not only can Allie enchant the cards either to actually reflect a prophecy (or to arbitrarily display any card in the deck as a psychological weapon), but she is also a non-magical card shark and master of sleight of hand. I may have been inspired by a blind stage magician who was really good with cards after watching too much Penn & Teller, but I don't quite recall.
She does have a magic orb, as seen on her desk back there, but this is used primarily for combat. Crystal ball seers are a bit boring unless they have like an entire room rigged for theatrics.
I loaded this scene full of Elae Meltaea-specific symbolism that nobody but me understands, as my world does not have human cultures & religions directly, but feel free to make guesses.
