When I saw Zootopia, it was the first time in a VERY long time that I was truly inspired to start drawing again. This comic was a project I started in May of 2016 and ultimately dropped in November that same year. There were several reasons I dropped it. Two main ones stand out. First, my inherent laziness. And second, I didn't want to continue working on a comic for an IP who's owner could shut down at any time. Both of these reasons are really crappy, especially since I really liked where the story was going, even if it was rather grimdark.

I originally posted this under my SFW alias, but I wanted to share it here because it's something I'm proud of and felt it got passed over at the time of original posting.

Starting where this ends, the rams burst through the door. With Nick tazed, Judy is easily taken down by the pair of them. (She's KO'd by being slammed against the wall.) Then we come back to the present where Bellwether mentions the collars on both Judy and Nick, alluding to a time in the past where preds would wear them. "They're museum pieces," she'd explain, "with some modifications." They're linked together in a way that if Judy's heart rate increases, Nick gets zapped. And vice versa. She also reminds Judy, "I'm not going to kill you. HE is!" Bellwether signs off as Nick wakes up and Judy tries to tell him to remain calm. While being tied up wouldn't be that big a deal, the muzzle sets him off and he starts to have a panic attack, causing Judy's collar to go off. Nick starts to realize what's happening and calms down enough that Judy's collar deactivates. The two decide that, if they just stay calm, someone is bound to come around and find them eventually. Then the rams come back. "We were told to 'get the fox's heart pumping!'" First step is to throw a bucket of ice water on him. With jeers of 'filthy pred' and the like, they proceed to beat him. All the while, Nick tries to keep calm, but fails more and more with Judy being crippled by the collar.
The climax comes as Judy notices someone trying to break into the warehouse through a roll-up door near her cage. It's Finnick. She calls to him between shocks, "They're going to kill Nick!" He sees her, then Nick, then the rams beating on him. Looking back outside, he calls to someone then darts in with the roll-up door being ripped open by Finnick's polar bear accomplice, which startles the rams. They push Nick into the water through a hole in the floor and make a break for it while Finnick and the bear rescue Nick. Judy blacks out from the collar at this point.
"The Following Week"
Hospital room. Nick wakes up and sees Judy in her civies, asleep in a chair next to him. Heartwarming reunion ensues. Turns out Nick suffered multiple fractured ribs, a broken leg and arm, and hypothermia as a result. To make matters worse, the rams escaped. Judy didn't report Finnick for his break-in (for obvious reasons). But they're aware of Bellwether's escape and know she's out for revenge.

A couple things that were up in the air. Rather than Finnick, I was going to have Fru Fru with a polar bear goon coming by to get caviar or something. (I was going to show the warehouse belonging to Mr. Big.) Rather than the tazer-rigged door, Judy and Nick were going to be taken down by one of the rams throwing a flashbang from the roof. I was going to have a still of Judy seeing it just before it went off with, "FOR TARGETS OVER 100KG ONLY" stamped on the side to explain how she and Nick could get KO'd by it. Finally, I was toying with the idea of Nick dying at the end, but that would leave it open to a revenge sequel, and I didn't think that to be a good fit for Judy...

So, yeah. That's the jist of it.
