Deep under the surface of a hesiarr colony world, a project utilizing the most advanced technologies the hesiarrs civilization has, comes to fruition as the biologically-biomechanically engineered creature emerges from its many months of artificial reconstruction, or rather, rebirth, from a volunteer whose original species doesn't matter anymore.
That individual has now became an agent of the hesiarr who is able to independently travel certain barely explored and little understood parts of the multiverse (that many simply refer to as "weird space"), where travel by foot or even wings is hindered by vast open spaces, and spaceship travel is also encountering frequent risks and barriers because of the hard-to-predict energy and gravitational anomalies such as gravitational turbulences, and other phenomena, and the dense material superstructures that ships are often too large to navigate through.
This creature may resemble dragons by form, however, it is independently engineered and constructed using DNA of many different species and also a lot of purposefully written DNA code, in the facility utilizing various bioengineereing and nanoengineering devices and bots in cooperation.
During the process of its birth, the creature is integrated by various travel, defense, and some offensive devices usually used by space ships, although compact versions of them, that the creature's nervous system can handle by instinct, and the body is capable of maintaining and doing minor repairs to them.
The body can also store and use energy and life support materials for long periods of exploration.

Many have the drive of constant exploration and advancement in things previously thought off limits or beyond possibilities.
The hesiarr are like this, hopefully humanity doesn't lose this spark either :)

Another question would be if he has sexual organs. Being created in the lab would suggest he does not, though if he is like the star children (Duo's story) then he would have the ability given to him to breed with any sort of alien species.

It depends on the wants of the individual too.
The body isn't hindered by carrying around a few extra, relatively small organs, so it's entirely possible that the creature is a proper male, female, maybe even carrying organs of both genders... as long as the organ sizes are kept within a reasonable size category (this was one of the reasons I skipped gender tags for the picture).
The ability to breed is achievable too with this level of technology. For example he could be able to produce sperm that is able to fertilize hesiarr females, or have a womb that can give birth to hesiarr after breeding with one (this is assuming it was a hesiarr which underwent this transformation, which is quite likely).

Then he could be a walking love factory for hesiarr colonies haha. Though it could also be a situation where they do not give him sexual organs, simply for a number of reasons, one being to help remove desires and distractions (like some stories with creatures having emotions taken from them, popular story item). Or being another test, just to see if a living organism could survive or adapt to other conditions such as hyperspace, xenospace, and extra universes with different laws of physics. If he dies, then they simply use the data or his remains and apply them to another version making it stronger and better equipped (Doomsday character). That would be the biological aspects, if anything it would make more sense to send a robot for more just research as it could be more adapted to withstand the extremes of xenospace and hyperspace while using technology. Sending a bio organism would mean they have done their research so they need to test and make sure something living will live. It really depends on whom created him and why, and I am reading a lot into this haha, Im just a fan of things plus this serves as a different kind of comment other then "cool pic" or "hes sexy bro"

The hesiarr colonies don't realy need such things, they are frisky enough by themselves :)

The volunteers for such projects are carefully selected and tested, to ensure they don't have emotional vulnerabilities and can tolerate loneliness and such.
Indeed, even if the creature fails, they can improve upon the errors, also other projects can exist with different specifications for size, equipment, etc. Biological modifications are quite common and less drastic ones are very reliable processes, this one is one of the most advanced ones in this branch of tech.

Sending a sentient being into these unusual places is a good balance between the travel capabilities, energy reserves, and environment tolerance of spaceships, and the mental and physical flexibility of organics.
In hesiarr technology (and most of the other mainstream tech in the setting they are in), biotechnological advancements have achieved artificial cell structures that are much more resilient then natural tissue, not as strong as vehicle structure/armor, but comparable. Biological tissue can easily regenerate on it's own, which is important in long missions such as exploration.
In this setting, computer-based a.i. has never gotten to the point where it can outclass all mental aspects of biological beings,
mainly because artificial cell structres can exist as neural networks too, which allow for seamless integration of computing units in the neural system of individuals, again almost as good as pure machine computers, but with more flexibility, making the biological being have abilities that only coputers and no natural creatures have by default.
Considering these, a.i. robotic ships would only have advantages in certain areas (armor, weapon loadout and pure computing power), but an artificially enhanced bilological being's flexibility and adaptability outweighs these.
There are occassions where remote-controlled, or a.i. vessels are sent in, but those are usually short tasks with the calculated risk that the unit will probably don't return intact.
The universe these creatures are meant to operate in have already had probes and ships sent into, then basic observation/research colonies established by the time the pic's project got started, these creatures were meant to be the next step in exploration where existing tools are not as efficient.

Reminds me of the remake of Robocop with the AI Biological aspect. None the less, I get the point so lots of fun there to play with. My issues in Duo's own story line are rather different. Certain species and cultures have advanced to high degrees of multiverse and multidimentional travel with technology alone and DNA alteration. Due to the leader of the gods of my epic, and past memories, these species and their technology become a threat to him and his power after a certain point as such knowledge and power lead these species to challenge the powers of the gods or act as the gods themselves.

The fall of the Wodao clan in my epic is a sad example considering their story and their basis to exist.

I see.
There are some similarities between the settings as far as I can see, although mine doesn't include supernatural gods, but there are some megalomaniac factions to which the hesiarr make constant effort to stay tecnhologically ahead of in multiple ways, as they don't have the numbers nor the raw industrial capacity of some other civilizations.
They hope they made a good investment with the research and exploration in the little-known universe this creature is also planned to operate in.

In my setting, a very large number of civilizations of various technological levels have fallen, their survivors relocated usually to (low quality) shelter planets and colonies they had to share with unknown civilizations of similar fate meanwhile a great war that swept across the galaxy in the late intra-galactic era (there was a faction that helped save as many of these defenseless species' individuals as they could to bring them to refugee colonies).
Even though the last colossal war was many decades ago, and times as of this picture are mostly peaceful, a civilization must be strong one way in another if it wants to stand the trials of existence in an universe -and multiverse- like this.

My epic is mainly about a group of heroes saving something greater then the multiverse. There are many lifeforms across multiverses of course, and its easy to get distracted and watch to write about all these species and their trials (I had a couple similar to yours, just in the sense of few numbers and survival and wars with other species even) but for the over all purpose of my epic, I must focus on the core.

The idea of it from the gods point of view, is that they are gods, but more over in the greek sense of the word. Meaning how the Greek gods seemed not very godly, rather mortals with power, or superheroes by today's standards.  But I did make them very powerful and they have reasons they are gods. In truth, they were created by the real gods, the gods of creation, and given or rather chosen, with the divine responsibility to watch over and protect all of creation.  They were once mortals, but they were chosen and given special divine knowledge and powers once they died.

There is a catch, that being gods is a test for them to pass in order to see if they are to be gods forever. They also must be in mortal forms (bodies) as they are too powerful to be in true divine forms.  Thus they use great theatrics to scare mortals. They cannot create anything, rather they can assemble particles and transmute them to give the appearance of creation. Their bodies can die and they can come back to life, unless their power is exhausted to a point that they cannot return and they pass on.

It gets political, which causes some renegade actions against the gods and an ultimate war between the gods and mortals due to old fears the ruler of the gods has against mortals.  But the gods are more over side characters in my epic, and they serve as plot points and story telling devices, with one exception whom is the antagonist.

From a protagonist standpoint, the gods arnt the antagonists, they are greatly neutral aside from their own affairs and duties across their dominions. The gods dont really become a problem until certain things occur, and then at the end of the epic, there are few gods left due to an antagonists actions.  The gods themselves hide behind the protagonists in secret due to old fears of past events which nearly exposed their secrets to all mortal life, so they have to have champions do their bidding, as they put it.

Honestly would take me more then 10 hours in voice to sum it all up as much as I can haha, but been working on this thing for 21 years and its very long. Been in the process of cutting it down at the core, which is sad because it cuts out a lot of heart, making it sound like an action series of sorts.

Yes, that sounds like an epic story indeed.
I'm curious what you mean by "greater than the multiverse" though. You mean a concept that is more important in the setting's philosophy, or a reality that is a greater set than the multiverse?

My setting is more of an interstellar post-apocalyptic setting with a multiverse aspect that is not yet primary to the events about the civilizations of the main galaxy (and external territories).

The war I mentioned was a galactic civil war, so to say (mostly galactic, as there already were extra-galactic colonies by that time, just not as important as a war objective/asset at the time), as it was about a sharp split in ideology of the donothar civilization, the faction that had the most powerful united fighting force in the galaxy before. This split was the result of a buildup of political problems that started arising in and after the donothar-xathan war (an insectoid civilization that mostly dispersed into independent planets afterwards).
This war, also known as colossal war as I mentioned earlier, left many of previously habitable planets barren wastelands, their minerals power-mined by gigantic machinery, interstellar space got littered by the debris and abandoned husks of immense space stations, starship factories, and large fleets of disabled/destroyed ships that were built fueled by enormous scale of asteroid and planetary mining across a large part of the galaxy by the donothar.

Those of the unfortunate species that got caught up in this mess, who didn't want to live in the miserable refugee colonies, often made living out of mercenary work, piracy, or salvaging the ships' and stations' remains that often even made life sustainable there, but were left behind by the Donothar faction when deemed impractical maintaining for army use anymore, or the armies simply gave them up as the war assets grew thinner for both sides.
On the other hand, many refugee colonies developed into decent city-states inhabited by a large number of sentient species, some of these states even returning to space travel into largely uncontested space as the civil war got mostly silent, although never officially came to a peace agreement.

The hesiarr, and some other species managed to stay independent, by tenacious resistance and fighting for their territories. Being in a more remote region of space from the main contested areas was an advantage in this aspect too for many.

I got stories planned, they will probably be told in comic form some time (there are some other priorities for me before I start devoting time for a long-term comic though) , that focus on one of the aforementioned locations and situations (in times at the late, calmed-down period of the colossal war), also the venture into parallel universes comes into play but that is a later potential development of story arcs, as there are other primary problems a plot revolving around the main characters will focus on first.

Your big war reminds me of something I have similar in my epic, well in the prequel chapter, its the Great Extinction event.  As for your question of greater then the mulitverse, I could tell you, but not in comments, I did make this years ago (late 90s) and its fun to keep it to myself, but sci fi is finally catching up to me, that is the problem when you work on something for so long, you always have to tweek it when sci fi catches up. If I had the talent Id do my epic in comic form, hell thats the only reason why I went to college for art as in book form, 200 books, each 600-800 pages at a rate of 1-2 books a year, yeah, too big lol. So Ive been making it smaller, though due to events out of control in my life, I cannot art and wish I could find someone to do it for me, the problem is, finding someone trusting enough to actually do it with the seriousness and style it needs to be told.  As an anime, it would be minimum 500 episodes, then with special comics for the inbetween stories.

As for my epic, in the pre saga 00 (the title sounds very metal haha), it is made up of 6 chapters. Chapter 2 is about the dragons lore from their world and the story of Duo as well as some of the revelations by the gods (through Duo's narrative so audience understands how the hierarchy works). Chapter 3 is the event which changes the leader of the gods to become fearful of the potential of mortals as it describes the event of Pharaoh the False God, whom founded the cult of the eternal sun (should mention there is no earth in my epic period, and no such thing as time). This event is a cool little story, which helps set up later actions such as the extinction of several species.

Chapter 4 is the great extinction, in which an adversary of the gods manages to destroy 97.6% of all life in creation. It is something the gods keep hidden to themselves as it was an event which they feel they have failed to a certain degree. It required a hero, a champion of the gods to be found.

After the event of the great extinction, the leader of the gods became very strict and watchful of budding new life and civilizations, worried some would challenge the power of the gods, and calling for the extinction of certain groups that become too powerful or too technologically advanced that he feels it is a challenge for the gods.  These events creates philosophies which act against the gods, and sets about the actions of the first cosmic king, one that could rule all the cosmos and defend against the attacks of the gods. Of course the gods take offense to this and send their champion to deal with the guy.  Not going to get into detail with it, but the god side of things is rather political at this point.

It becomes a question of does he send a champion or angels to deal with this being and if they fail, do the mortals believe that the gods have no power. Or do the gods themselves get involved and risk having the same question asked, that he is such a big deal that the gods themselves have to appear, and if they do and are made fools of as in chapter 3, what would the consequences be for all remaining lifeforms?  For now, the leader does the standard reaction of "You are not worthy to deal with, my servants will deal with you" and it seems to work, but he does have fears of being taken down (such fears lead up to the great war in saga 8 and then the eventual decline of the gods) by mortals meddling.

There are other things happening in this epic of course, its not just the gods and mortals, there are other things going on, but being as huge as it is, there is more then plenty of room for other side story arcs or stories of races living within this story.  Its huge, as I said, summed up as much as I can do it, in voice, takes over 10 hours to tell

Nice to see people dedicating a lot of time and effort towards developing their own unique settings.
I wish we all had more time and resources implementing these concepts into media.
Even though I produce many pictures about my setting, it still doesn't bring as much of it across as would be ideal, that's why I've been thinking about a comic.
It is a plan for a time in the future, as I'm improving on drawing skill, the required effort in limited time becomes less of an obstacle, that's how I plan to "materialize" my ideas, until then, it's mostly fragments of ideas in text form (and pictures) scattered across my galleries) without easily presentable structure.
So I see what you mean when you say you don't wish to expend on details, and you also have more to tell than it would be fitting in some comment section, in contrast to purposeful story writing for example.

I do have health problems currently, still though Im not giving up on the dream, I mean 21 years, soon to be 21 and a half oh boy. Worked too long on it to just give up.
