My dad was admitted to the hospital this past Wednesday. He had a fall in the bathroom and EMS was called. We found out yesterday that it was due to a heart attack followed by several small strokes.
Yesterday, he was not lucid at all. He didn't even remember my name. Today, after being moved to an ICU room, he has been doing much better. The doctors have him on a heprin drip in the hopes it will help dissolve the remaining bits of clot in his brain. But he's in a precarious position. The blood thinner may cause brain bleeding. But doing nothing invites the possibility of an additional stroke. So my whole family has been put on edge.
After seeing him today, I feel he will make a good recovery. Maybe not quite where he was before, but still well enough to live with us and be semi-autonomous.
