I think that is enough ink bunny for me

Nobody here has necessarily "wronged" me but I do not feel like I am accomplishing anything, and do not like the overwhelmingly sexual atmosphere.  I don't like that on other sites either but this is the one with the largest amount that is minor-fixated, which I like yet less.  Where do I belong?  Uncertain, but not here.  I have been using the posty brib application to post to here simultaneously with a few other sites that also aren't generally worth the individual effort, but this is the only one of those that makes me uncomfortable and reluctant to mention my use of outside of it.  I do reach more people here than weasyl, which I appreciate, but maybe I can do without it,
I will continue to upload drawings to [too many] other websites, the comic strip is still there, and
the commission form is still there.  I don't believe I have ever sold a commission through this site in ten years of offering them, because the stuff people ask me for when they come from here is not stuff that I am ever going to give them.

I might make a final upload to end on a better point the next time I draw something I am not ashamed of, or delete up to the last point that I wasn't, or perhaps forget about it entirely.  Also uncertain.

thank you and good luck.

addendor: NO I am not "going" anywhere, just COMING here less often.  And this other bunch will remain as active as previously

in fact I receive more comments on ink bunny than some of the others, but none of them is a closed, myopic system to the degree that ink bunny is.  There is no hope for something better here.  Inkbunny feels like the end of a road, the bottom of a well.  It feels like giving up, so I have decided to try giving up on giving up.

you have to do whats best for you.If being somewhere bothers you  then its best to leave. The fact this site allows certain things and others dont  lets this site have a perceived focus. I and some others are here for other reasons then minor reasons. If more people who were of similar mindset were here, the "feeling" and perception of the place would be different. But thats not the responsibility of you or any other induvial. I for one just would like some place where fictional content even things that disgust me will be allowed as long things are filtered/tagged.

The minor stuff is a part of it.  I don't like sex-stuff in general, and am just about alienated from furrydom apart from that.  The minor stuff that "isn't" sexual still often comes across like: there is probably sexual stuff that is being filtered out and I don't want to be near it (Assuming some stuff is being hidden entirely and not still appearing as blank X rectangles).  Just like everybody can tell that the furry raiders are nazis even though they don't use swastikas usually.  I feel almost completely alone here, artist-wise.  And I did six years ago!  I think there are maybe three people whose uploads still show up for me and I can see them elsewhere, or don't want to see them anyway.

I may not have commented much if ever at all, but I appreciate you sharing your art here because it allowed me to find and enjoy your unique, vibrant art and overall style.

Best wishes for the future!

this seems definitive (i hope it's not). sad.
you are one of those artists that make this place more rich and interesting with your unique style and subjects.
sincerely, THANK YOU for this. good luck to you too and, IF you will return, one day,... :--)  <3

The double-edged sword of making weird and interesting art is that not very many people appreciate it- otherwise it wouldn't be weird. The mistake a lot of artists make is that they look at the crowds that get pulled in by porn and assume that's an audience that's applicable to general art as well. But porn is a normalizing element- it makes art more relatable to people, not less. The number of people who are possible to reach with work that appeals to base instincts is not applicable to a more specific kind of work like yours; it's just not the same audience at all.

Still, I like it. It's strange and interesting. Good luck wherever you go next.

I didn't assume anything about inkbunny when I joined; I had an early invitation when it was still being developed.  The first and last such invitation I ever had, so I felt obligated to give as fair a chance as I could to this.  It was a very long chance.

Yeah, I think it's a bit of a shame that inkbunny is so awash with that single subject. It's a nice site, it's got good features, I've only had good interactions with the admins so far, and I do approve of them sticking to their guns on allowing as much as they can.

But that's kinda slowly scared off or pushed out the artists that don't like to be associated with that topic. With each other artist that leaves, the pool of remaining art gets that little bit more concentrated on the one subject. I wish I'd managed to convince more fans of other topics to stay over the years.

It's a shame that you're leaving, but I can utterly understand why. I do love your colourful, cheery type style (even if I don't comment much) :) And yeah, as you say, I'll just find you on another site.

Where ever you're at I'll support your work man it's nice seeing it here too since it's a fun change up to the usual degenerate content of the site and gets your amazing style to a wider audience
But at the same time if you're not comfortable being here and want to move away do what you feel is for the best

I lament that this place loses one of its best artists, but I understand how you feel.
I rarely draw anything erotic and I prefer stories with interesting characters to those with lots of genitalia. But it's a fact that most furries are here for the porn.

I'll continue following your amazing art on other platforms

I genuinely like the folder and sorting system here more than other sites, but yeah... you're surely not wrong.

Suppose I'll just watch you on... DeviantArt.

Ink bunny does have being well-coded in its favor.
EdgarKingmaker
2 years, 8 months ago
Yeah.  Really most of what keeps me here.  Its clean appearance and coding lets me keep track of my favorite fellow artists.  DA and FA seem really cluttered in comparison.  Of course, I don't... really... watch many people here, and they're probably also people using PosyBirb convenience... but hey, being here has gotten me at least 5 sales.

Aww, I'm so sorry you feel uncomfortable here! I have enjoyed your work! I sometimes find myself feeling similarly. While I do like drawing NSFW content, I enjoy general illustration better. Unfortunately unless your work is professional level and mainstream in style and content, SFW content is difficult to get anyone to interact with. Even on furry centric art pages where one it would stand out more because it isn't porn. It can be really frustrating!

You might try FurAffinity- it still has NSFW content, but it can be filtered out completely if you choose, and there IS a solid number of artists who either specialize or do mostly SFW, illustrative works. It would take networking on your part to get to know them and have interaction and traction with your posts, but that's the same anywhere! Failing that, there's always DeviantART, though I find the sheer number of people on it is daunting and difficult to get a following. When I had one 15-18 years ago, it was waaaaaay easier to interact with a lot of people. ArtStation is also an option, but that is geared towards professional artists working in mainstream art spaces. It's a fantastic place to view art, but I've never felt I could manage the sort of quality that anyone would bother to look at what I produced.

Anyway, good luck! The main thing is, don't stop making amazing arts!

If you look at my profile page you will see an extensive list of other sites that I use, including two of the three you mentioned.  I do get interaction here, but not of a sort that I will miss much.

Fair enough, I find much of the extreme NSFW stuff quite slickening as well.

Even the mild, not-legally porn stuff creeps me out.  I am not mentally in tune with this.

Sorry to hear about that. :/

I do follow you other places, so I'll still see your stuff, but it's frustrating that people can't be comfy here. Alas, it is what it is. Thank you for saying what was going on.

I can understand not liking some of the content hosted here. That's most people's reason for not even wanting to come to this place.
Though personally, I feel that this is one of the last few places where there's an actual feeling of community. And it's the better of the fur sites that I have used.

Perhaps you can customize this place much more to your liking? It supports keyword banning, so that'll take out a lot of the art you don't like. I'm not sure if this place has a "sfw" mode, but if it does, it'll hide all of the sexual stuff.
Surely there's some way you can make this place better for yourself.
frubaklop

I have been registered here since the beginning, have tried many things and it doesn't work the way you think it does.  Blocking keywords just results in pages full of blank thumbnails whose often disgusting titles are still shown and it wears on me being surrounded by that.  And then there is plenty of stuff that people don't bother to tag.   I don't experience companionship with people whose identities seem to be defined by what furry stuff they like, more so when I can't even stand to look at it.  I do not belong here.
Zexidous

I see.
I suppose everything isn't for everyone.
Sorry it didn't work out for you.

Good luck on the other platforms you use. Hopefully they will give you what you are seeking.

I am a bit curious though.
In your opinion, what kind of people do you think belong here?
frubaklop
2 years, 8 months ago
Anyone who feels like they belong here belongs here.  I don't feel that anywhere but ink bunny is isolated in such a way that I believe the potential for me to feel that does not exist.
GreenReaper

This is super-late - perhaps you would have appreciated knowing it a decade ago - but showing placeholders is an option you can turn off ("Hide blocked thumbnails totally"), at which point it fills empty slots with other work, where possible. Maybe it'd make your visits less wearing.

I understand that completely. I had considered leaving Inkbunny years ago simply because my comics seem out-of-place on a site where the homepage regularly has cub porn all over the homepage. I settled for just not promoting my IB gallery anywhere because the site itself and comments were still better. Whenever I start drawing again, I'll definitely be re-evaluating all the sites I post to.
