Football Game:

I'm driving to the diner and honestly I'm really glad I do have plans for tonight because I did not want to be in my house anymore and I definitely wanted to avoid my parents after the conversation that took place a couple hours ago. Trying to leave the house though was a difficult process. My Mom was happy that I was going to the Football game, where-as my dad didn't believe me that I actually had plans. His direct words to me were..

"You have plans? That's a bunch of Bullshit! You've never had any friends, so if you expect me to believe you're telling the truth you must have completely lost your mind!"

My dad and I have never seen eye to eye but what he said to me really hurt. All I can do is keep repeating in my head what he said, why I'm letting it affect me I have no idea. I'm usually good about brushing things off when it comes from my dad, but this time I couldn't.

I finally pull into the diner's parking lot and see April standing outside the front doors. Getting out of my car I walk over to her and as soon as she sees me she has a big smile.

"Hi April."

"Hi Leo! I'm glad to see you did show up." She says in a laughing manner

"So umm where are you two friends you mentioned." I ask looking at my watch to see it's 2 minutes to 6:00.

"Oh they will be here in a minute." She says and I swallow slightly nervous.

"Ok."

"Oh by the way, you may notice as soon as you meet the guys that they have a tendency to flirt with each other. What makes it funny is they are both oblivious to it. Though this year may finally be the year they get together, but I hope you don't mind that you know they like each other."

"Hey that's totally cool with me. At least I know I'm meeting a group of people who don't judge if you swing in the opposite direction." I say with a laugh. There may be a chance that I will actually fit in here.

"Well I guess we won't have any problems then. Well unless that is you try to get together with one of them." April says

"Nope that's between them I won't try and pry them apart. I'm definitely not interested in what do you call it..... Oh being a home wrecker of sorts."

"Hey April!"

Before April could say anything more I turn to find two more turtles standing in front of me. I'm slightly shocked because I have never seen any one else of my own species. I thought I was the only one. I mean my dad always said I was a freak accident.....

"Hey guys! I want you to meet my new friend I told you guys about. Donnie, Mikey this is Leonardo. Leonardo this is Donatello and Michelangelo." April says

I reach my hand out to shake theirs.

"Hi nice to meet you. Oh and you can just call me Leo for short."

"Nice to meet you too and you can call me Don or Donnie for short." Donnie says with a smile.

"You can call me Mikey, it definitely is interesting meeting another turtle." Mikey says practically jumping up and down with excitement.

"I'd have to say the same" I say with a laugh.

"Come on guys let's get something to drink and head over to the game." April says gesturing towards the doors.

Mikey and Donnie go in both lost in conversation. April was definitely right about them.

"Leo you coming?" April asks

"Yeah, oh and April could we maybe keep what I told you between you and me please?"

"Your secret is safe with me Leo."

I nod my head and go into the diner. It's a nice little place and I can tell why April, Mikey, and Donnie like to hang out here. After we get our drinks we walk across the the street to the school, we practically have first pick of where we want to sit. I follow the others and it seems like they have a spot picked out already. Sitting down I take in everything, the field, the bleachers, and all the people starting to show up. I look at my watch and determine there is about 20 minutes until game starts. This is the first school football game I've been to and I never dreamed I would come to one.

"So Leo, where are you from?" Donnie asks breaking me from my thoughts.

"Well no where really. I don't think I've lived in one place for more than two years." I say

"Is your mom or dad in the Military?" Donnie asks

"No, but my dad's job involves a lot of moving around. So that's how I got here."

"That has to suck. Isn't it hard to make friends and then have leave and start all over?" Mikey asks.

"Well actually I haven't ever really made any friends ever. It just makes things easier for me. I figured that out after about the 3rd move when I was still in elementary school, before that all the moving I was kind of oblivious to."

"Leonardo, so you are telling us you've never had a friend before?" April asks.

"Well yeah, it's kind of hard to make a friend when you barely have the chance to meet anyone. At that point it's easier to just focus on school work."

"Well Leo things are going to be changing then because at this point you've already been adopted into the group. So I hope you are ready to start having a social life." April says with a laugh but at the same time has a look of determination on her face.

"April I don't know if that's a good....."

"Dude, the sooner you realize that you're not going to win this argument against April the easier your life will be." Mikey says and Donnie just starts to laugh.

"Just trust us Leo, you are not getting rid of any of us anytime soon." Donnie says.

All I can do is just sit there and smile. What just happened? I go from zero friends to having 3 in a matter of seconds.

"Hey look guys the games getting ready to start!" Mikey yells

"So who's the team's quarterback?" I ask simply trying to make conversation.

"His names Raphael."

The next day:

Well the game was a lot of fun last night, our school's team won and I actually had a lot of fun hanging out with April, Mikey, and Donnie. They wanted me to stay longer after the game so I could meet their other two friends but I said I'd meet them later. It was getting late and I didn't want to stress my mom out. Getting to my locker and first class went a lot smoother today.

"Good morning Leo!" April says as she sits down next to me.

"Morning April"

"Ok so today during lunch I want you to meet our other friends I told you about."

"One of them I'm just going to assume is your boyfriend?" I ask and April just giggles.

"Well yes, and the other guy is pretty much like my boyfriends brother because of how close of friends they are" She says with a laugh.

"So you hang out with a whole bunch of guys? No other girls?"

"Oh god no, all the girls here are just looking for another drama case. Guys are much simpler plus I've known all of them since Elementary school."

"Ok well where should I meet you guys?"

"I'll just text you, I think that will make things a lot simpler"

I nod my head and we don't have the chance to talk any further because our teacher starts today's lesson. Well this should be an interesting day.

Lunch time:

I'm sitting at one of the tables in the lunch room, when I get a text from April saying she saw where I was sitting and would be over here as soon as they got lunch. Which may take a while considering the line is fairly long. So I just pull my I-pod out and plug in my head phones to bide my time........

Walking out of the lunch line I look around for the others but I can see they are still in line so I make my way out of the crowd of people to try and find a table. While walking around I notice the new Guy April was talking about. Although that's not the first thing that comes to my mind, all I can suddenly think about is that he is absolutely gorgeous. Woah slow yourself down Raph, you don't want to spook the guy and you sure as hell don't even know if he is into that kind of relationship. I make my way over to where you are sitting and I plan to introduce myself......

Suddenly I feel a tap on my shoulder, so I pause my music and turn around expecting it to be April and the others, but instead I turn to find another turtle standing behind me wearing a red shirt, some black jeans, and a lettermen's jacket..... Great another varsity football player........

"Ummm Hi.." I say slightly nervous.

"Hey mind if I sit here?"

"Look I really don't want any trouble, but if you're going to pick on me please just get it over with and be on your way."

"What makes you think I'm going to pick on you just trying to be friendly is all."

"Because your a football player and a group of your teammates already made it clear they don't like me."

"Who was giving you issues? That's not how our team is supposed to role."

"Seriously what do you want?"

"Just want to sit and eat lunch."

"Well you are welcome to do as you please, as long as you leave me alone."

"Look just because I'm a football player doesn't mean we are all assholes."

"Previous experience tells me other wise."

"Well would it make you feel better if I tell you I just want to talk and eat my lunch? I mean a little friendly chitchat won't hurt will it" This is not going as easy as I planned...

"Alright" I'm not really certain what this guy is up too.

"So whatcha name?"

"I'm Leonardo, but you can call me Leo if you like. You?"

"My names Raphael, most people call me Raph."

What did I just get myself into.... Not only is he a football player, but he is the quarterback and team captain awesome.... Although I think he could distract anyone with though's deep brown eyes of his, I sure as hell wouldn't be able to score any points against him. Wait what the hell am I thinking!

"So you said a couple of my teammates were giving you trouble, care to tell me who and I'll make sure they won't bother you again."

"No it's ok, it was just one time. No need to make a big deal about it." I say quickly hoping he won't make a big deal about it.

"Well considering we have only been in school two days and you are new to the school I think that already counts as one to many times. So seriously I want to know who."

"Why do you care so much?"

"Because that is not how my team should be presenting itself."

"Like I said it doesn't matter."

"Yes it does."

"Again why are you being so friendly? You don't even know me! You just walked over and sat down!"

"Look I sat down next to you because I think everyone needs a friend. And now I don't like hearing that your short time here hasn't been exactly pleasant and I want to make it right.... I'll be right back I forgot to grab a fork, if April, Mikey, Donnie, and Casey get here before I get back let them know I'll just be a minute."

All I can do is sit here and feel like an idiot, I should have known Raph was one of April's friends.... I just kept going on and on... I'm sitting here with my face in my hands when I feel someone sit down next to me.

"Hey Leo! Long time no see!" Mikey says

"Hi guys..." I reply sitting up a little bit

"Leo what's wrong?" April asks.

"I just managed to have the most awkward introduction with Raphael. He probably thinks I'm an idiot now." I say slightly embarrassed.

"He didn't tell you, he knew us did he?" Donnie asks.

"Nope."

"Don't worry about it that's just how Raph is." Donnie says

Oh yeah that's really comforting Donnie... Before we continue talking April introduces me to Casey and he seems like a pretty cool guy too.

"Hey guys!"

"Hey Raph, you think you could have told Leo you knew us?" April asks

"Nah I thought I'd get to know him in my own way. Sorry if I made you uncomfortable, wasn't entirely on purpose." Raph says with a smile

Alright maybe not all football players are bad. Especially one that has eyes like that and an amazing smile. Oh no, please don't tell me I find him to be good looking that just wont end in a good way........
