------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I look around at my new bedroom for the millionth time and finally feel satisfied with the way everything looks. My walls are painted blue, my bed is made exactly to my liking, my desk where I do school work finally seems to be in its proper place, my clothes are all unpacked and hung up in the closet, and finally I found a safe place for my I-pod dock where it won't get broken and I can hear the music clearly.

Why I even bother setting up my room I will never understand because as soon as I get comfortable I have to pack it all up and move to another town. Another home, another school, all new faces, all new ways for people to either ignore me or make fun of me. This time won't be any different, but at least I only have two years of High School left and I can finally settle in one place and never have to deal with the unpleasant years of High School again.

Tomorrow will be the first day of school and for some reason I really hope this year will be different. Maybe I will actually make a friend or two, but I don't plan on getting my hopes up I wish for this every year but nothing ever changes.

Suddenly I hear a small knock on my door and turn to see my mom poking her head in. I give her a small smile and she returns with an even bigger smile.

"Leonardo it's getting late and you need to think about going to bed, you have school tomorrow and you better not be late. Dad and I have to get up early for work tomorrow and will not be here to get you going in the morning."

"And when have I ever been late to school mom?" I ask with a small laugh

"Well, never, but it's a new area and I want you to be careful driving there tomorrow."

"I'll be fine mom, I'm a Junior in High School I think I should be able to manage myself by now"

"I know but you still are my baby and it's my job to worry about everything. Do you remember the route we figured out for you to take to school?" you say with a smile and I just role my eyes.

"I remember mom." I say walking over to you and giving you a hug.

"Alright well good night and make sure you text me when you get to school."

"Mom" I say laughing and you give me a quick kiss on my head like you always have done since I was little and walk out my room.

I shut my door behind you then make my way to my drawers and change into some pajama pant's before crawling into bed. I look around my room one last time and decide I'm satisfied with the way things are, rolling over on my side I start thinking about tomorrow, well I guess the new school year had to start at some time but it came to soon. Please Friday get here quickly!

This is just my luck this school is huge! I just found out there is two floors to the school and the lady in the office just handed me my list of classes along with my locker number and combo. Great this is just great it takes me 20 minutes just to find my damn locker and the hallways are starting to get crowded already, I can feel everyone looking at me. Which is one thing that is just an automatic reaction to the new kid. I get everything settled in my locker and finally take a look at what my schedule will be like, I have Pre-calculus, Chemistry, ASL, Economics, and English. Awesome now I just have to find my classrooms.

I turn around and immediately run into someone dropping the few items I have in my arms and their stuff drops to the floor as well. I can hear some people laughing at how clumsy I was and all I can do is lean down and try to pick things up quickly.

"Sorry I wasn't paying attention." I say trying not to make eye contact

"Hey it's fine, I'm certain you are a little flustered being in a new school." The voice belongs to a girl but I still have yet to look at her.

I hand her a couple items that belong to her before standing up and the first thing I notice is she has long red hair.

"Sorry again I guess i'll be on my way now." I say looking down at my schedule and then looking back up trying to figure out which direction I should go.

Suddenly I hear a small giggle and I turn my head only to find the red-headed girl to be still standing there.

"You look confused, here where is your first class I will help you get there."

"Thank you!" I say and give a small sigh of relief.

"Come on we have to go up-stairs and by the looks of it we have the same math class. Perfect!" She says and turns in the direction of the stairs. I follow her into the classroom and she drags me to the center of the class. I just begin to organize my stuff when suddenly this girl is trying to get my attention again.

"By the way my name is April" She says with a smile and I can't help but smile back.

"I'm Leonardo, but you can call me Leo." I say and before she can ask any more questions the bell rings and the teacher starts to take role call.

By the end of class I feel like things might actually be ok for once, April pointed me in the direction of my next class. The next class is just as easy as the first and I slowly start to settle in, but it is just my luck that I run into a group of the varsity football players and by now everyone knows there is a new kid in the school.

"Hey new guy where exactly do you think you're going?" One of the guys yells at me as I pass him and I stop to answer him.

"My next class. Why?" I ask trying to be nice but the next thing I know they have me surrounded and backed up against the wall.

"You don't ask the questions here I do. Understand?" I nod my head really not wanting any trouble.

"The names Justin, word got around that you were being real friendly with April O'Neil this morning, just a fair warning that's my team mates girl friend Casey Jones. If I hear you are trying to pull any smooth stuff with that girl you will have me to answer to is that clear."

Again I nod my head looking around not entirely certain which one was Casey but I don't think he was really there. Suddenly all of them were gone and I try to make my way to my next class as quickly as I possibly can. Great this is exactly what I needed!

Lunch time:

"Hey Donnie, April, Casey!" Mikey says rushing to the lunch table, sitting down next to Donnie.

"Hey Mikey" All three said in response

"What has you all excited Mikey?" Donnie asks

"Oh just excited for the football game tonight! Are you going to go Donnie?" Mikey asks practically jumping up and down with excitement.

"Why are you just asking me? Don't you think you should ask April as well?" Donnie asks slightly playing with his food.

"Well of course April is going, her boyfriend is on the football team! Plus we already plan on meeting up before the game so we can find good seats together, but you still haven't answered my question Donnie"

"Well I guess I'll go if you two are going." Donnie says with a small smile.

"Awesome!"

"What is so awesome Mikey?"

"Raph hey man! Didn't know if you would find us." Casey says

"Well it's pretty easy all I had to do was listen for Mikey." Raph says with a laugh.

"Oh Mikey, Donnie would it be ok if I maybe invited the new Guy to hang out with us at the game tonight?" Apirl asks

"Should I be worried about this new guy?" Casey asks teasing his girlfriend.

"Casey don't be silly, he is just new and slightly nervous. He could use a couple new friends." April says rolling her eyes at her boyfriends teasing.

"So how did you and this new guy meet already April" Raph asks

"Well we kind of collided before our first classes, we have math together, but it also kind of helps that he is also a turtle like the three of you." April says

"Is that so" Raph says...........

After School:

I honestly can't wait to just go home. Today was definitely not any different compared to every other school day in my life. I'm making my way to my car, when someone is suddenly grabbing my arm.

"Hey Leo!" I turn around to find April standing there and I slightly start to worry I really don't want any trouble.

"Umm Hi April." I say continuing to walk to my car and April just follows.

"So I wanted to ask what you were doing tonight." I take a deep breath and set my back pack on the hood of my car.

"Look April, you are really nice but I was told you have a boyfriend and I really don't want to cause any trouble so maybe we should just talk in class." I say trying to be nice about what I was saying.

"Are you kidding me, did Justin bother you. That Fucking Asshole! Look I already told Casey and my two other friends that I was going to invite you to hang out at the football game tonight and they are kind of excited to meet you. Don't let Justin get to you he has such a big head because he is our #1 Running back. Please I think you would have fun and it would be a great way for you to feel more comfortable at the school"

I stopped rummaging through my bag to look at her. I have absolutely no idea if I can trust this girl or not, but I guess there is only one way to find out and I honestly don't think she will let me say No.

"Alright, I'll go to the game with you and your friends."

"Yay, ok we are meeting at the old diner across the street at 6:00 and the game starts at 7:00. We usually get something to drink and then walk over to the field."

"Ok I'll see you guys at 6:00 then."

I say unlocking my car and climb in, you smile and start to leave but suddenly you turn around and knock on my window. I role down the window so I can talk to you.

"Do you have a cell phone?" April asks

"Umm yes." I say pulling it out of my pocket to show her.

"Good" she says and holds her hand out. I give her my phone and she starts to enter her number into my contacts.

"There now you can text me. By see you later!"

April says before walking over to her own car. Well I just hope me being friendly doesn't get me in trouble...

My drive home takes about 15 minutes and when I get home, I go strait to my room to complete what little homework I do have before sitting down to read my book. I eventually hear both my parents get home, my mom shouting up-stairs telling me hello and then nothing else. About an hour later I can hear my parents arguing, oh well probably over something about the new house. About 10 minutes later I can still hear the frustration in both their voices but can't tell what they are talking about.

"Leonardo will you come down stairs please!" I hear my mother yell and I have to wonder if I forgot to do something.

I make my way to the living room, where both my parents are and I smile at both of them.

"What did you need mom?" I ask

"Your father has something to talk to you about."
