Curse of the Tails Doll

This is a story which takes place in the southern coast of Devonshire where a young ordinary boy named Kyle was spending the day in Paignton Pier with his family.

Kyle had always dreamed of visiting Paignton's Pier as a child, but even though he lived in the next town over, his family would never take him there as they were always too busy. But as a special treat his parents decided to make a family outing out of it.
When they got to the pier though, Kyle was more than thrilled at all the colourful amusement rides and arcade machines, such an atmosphere he had never encountered before, his parents warned him not to wander too far but Kyle didn't listen and immediately began exploring with enthusiasm.

Whilst wandering through the hall of mirrors, Kyle came across an open fire exit door which took him back out into the pier. As he wondered, he came across a small lone fortune tellers hut and decided out of curiosity to pay a visit.
As he stepped into the hut of the fortune teller, Kyle could faintly hear mysterious chants whispered into his ears, it almost felt as if the presence of the dead were within the room itself. Kyle thought nothing of it and cautiously looked around at the strange collection of voodoo decorated around the hut.
Thats when the gypsy fortune teller, a mysteriously old but pale Haitian woman who claimed to once be a voodoo priest greeted the young boy and invited him to take a seat by her table. She offered to give Kyle a tarot reading but Kyle's eye was immediately caught by a mysterious but cute doll on the mantelpiece behind her.
Asking what it was, she immediately warned Kyle that the doll contained a serious voodoo curse of the dead, and was created by a dark sorcerer many years ago who was said to have created the doll to seek revenge on his enemies. Kyle was intrigued by this story and asked is he could purchase the doll as a souvenir.
The mysterious gypsy asked no money for the doll but warned the boy to take caution as the doll contained an aura of pure evil.

When Kyle got back to the amusement arcades at the pier his parents scolded him for wandering off and asked him where he got the curious doll he was carrying. Kyle told them he won it as a gift at an attraction and his parents thought nothing more of it as his older teenage sister reunited with them, they all headed back to the car and proceeded home.
While riding in the car, Kyle admired the stuffed kitsune doll the gypsy had given him, he didn't really believe in the curse it was rumoured to have but was fascinated by the doll all the same and couldn't wait to show his friends.
The very minute The family arrived home Kyle rushed to greet his best friends who were waiting for him in the street. He showed them the doll he won and asked his mother if his friends could come inside until it was time for dinner, His mother agreed and they rushed up to his room to hear more from Kyle about the mysterious doll he had obtained.

When they got to his room they admired the doll in fascination as Kyle began to tell them stories about its origin. he told them all about the sorcerer and the curse of the dead as they stared into the dolls eyes out of sheer curiosity. Kyles friend Samantha especially took great interest in the doll as when she started into its eyes it almost felt like it was staring back at her, she could almost make out her own reflection in his black soulless eyes, but as she began to stare harder she could see images of death and fear. Her very reflection looked pale and dead, with her body depraved of life and her eyes as thick and black as the dolls.
She immediately startled and spaced out from the image she had just seen. Convinced it was just her mind playing tricks on her she bid farewell to her friends and went home, left with a subtle sense of fear from the doll Kyle had obtained. Kyles other friend Mark suggested they play video games as they began to lose interest in admiring the doll.

Later that night, when Kyle was getting ready for bed, he proudly admired his new found toy and placed it on top of the dressing table besides the bedroom mirror as he prepared to brush his teeth and go to bed. The doll just stared lifelessly into space as he left and then re-entered the room, turning off all the lights as he climbed into bed.
But as he laid awake in bed he could begin to hear a howling through his ears, followed by sudden whispers calling out to him, extremely familiar to the ones he heard when he entered the fortune tellers hut at the pier. He tried to rock himself to sleep on his pillow but was too distracted by the voices in his head. He looked up at the doll and its eyes were glowing bright red. Refusing to believe in superstition he thought nothing of it and just assumed it was the light from outside the window reflecting on the dolls eyes emitting the red glow.
But as he tried to get back to sleep the whispers just got louder and louder, calling out to him. He turned to his nightstand and there to his shock he could see an elderly woman staring directly into his face howling in monotone to the chants whispered in his head. Kyle immediately screamed at the top of his lungs as the creepy woman howled at him, her eyes wide open and her face completely devoid of life.

Kyle's parents rushed into the room and turned on the lights to see what the emergency was and within the flick of the light switch, both the woman, the voices and the eerie red glow on the dolls eyes were gone. Kyle was panicking in sweat, trying to catch his very breath back as his parents tried to assure him it was just a nightmare he was experiencing.
With that said they left him to go back to sleep and left the door slightly open so light could still get in. Trying to get over the shock of what he felt was almost a near death experience, Kyle stared at the mysterious doll as he could feel his own heartbeat getting deeper and deeper, the doll just started back at him inanimately, with its deep black eyes and pale expression.

The next morning Kyle got out of bed with strange thoughts of Paranoia, unable to get the images out of his head from last night's nightmare, he thought it was silly but he no longer trusted his once cherished doll and pulled it from the dressing table and into the sock drawer as he begun to get ready for school.
As he came out of the bathroom buttoning his shirt, to his very surprise he found the doll lying on his bed on top a pile of his school clothes. He paused in a slight shock but thinking little of it, he pull the doll back in the drawer, convincing himself he must of merely forgot to put it away. With that done, he headed off to school.
When he arrived in the playground to greet his friends he was shocked to find Samantha very pale and hardly speaking a word. Mark said he thought she was sick and should probably go home but all she did was stare at his feet, repeatedly spacing out, almost like a complete zombie.
Things became worse in shop class when the 3 friends were building a model birdhouse together as out of nowhere she suddenly vomited everywhere. The teacher escorted her to the nurses office while her mother was called in to collect her, but she said nothing during the incident, not even uttering a single word or looking up above her feet as she was escorted outside.

Later that day Kyle came home after school and couldn't wait to change out of his uniform as he had caught small chunks of sick from where his friend has vomited all over their birdhouse, but as he came into his room and walked straight into the bathroom to take off his shirt and tie, he failed to notice the Kitsune doll sitting on his bed upon a pile of clothing, staring at him in the darkness. He looked at his reflection in the mirror and to his very horror, the bathroom walls were completely covered in blood with the words inscribed 'enihsnus eht leef uoy nac'.
The bathtub was filled with blood and there was a dead fetus floating above the surface, head down. It was simply the most horrific sight any human being could face but as Kyle attempted to rush out the bedroom, he noticed the demonic doll staring at him upon the pile of clothing as if to try and say he was the guilty suspect. He gave the doll a sickening look of disgrace and rushed downstairs to get help but by the time he finally managed to convince his mother to inspect the bathroom, it was completely empty of everything but a small drop of blood left in the bathtub.

His mother thinking it was an immature prank, scolded the boy for wasting her time and went back downstairs to prepare dinner, Kyle was shocked and paranoid at how such a horrific sight could of just vanished like that, he looked back at his voodoo doll as it had mysteriously shifted a few inches across the bed yet again. He picked up the doll and stared directly into its face, convincing himself the curse isn't real, then with that he threw the doll out the window then sat on the bed, resting his forehead in the palm of his hands, trying to convince himself his mind was merely playing tricks on him.
After collecting his thoughts he decides to phone Samantha to check up on her but as the phone dials, without even hearing a pickup tone he just hears a moaning echo on the phone, it almost sounds similar to a wounded cats meow but the voice sounds mysteriously more human than animal. The moaning continues to get louder as Kyle repeatedly begs Samantha to respond, the moaning is then followed by a growl as suddenly all he can hear over the line is dead air. Kyle stays on the line until he finally hears a dial tone then puts down the phone and decided to pay a visit to his friend Mark.

As he heads outside he notices the voodoo doll missing from the bushes where he dropped it, before he can even question its whereabouts he see's a little boy walking with his mother while playfully carrying the doll. He doesn't know whether to warn the child of a potential danger or do nothing in fear of causing a big scene over what probably could just of been his own imagination this whole time. He watches the kid lovingly hold the doll as his mother pushes a small toddler in a pram while carrying her grocery shopping. The doll stares back at Kyle as they walk into the distance, but Kyle tries to think nothing more of it as he proceeds to his friends house across the street.
When he tells Mark what happened to him, Mark thinks he almost crazy but admits he had a similar experience when he tried to call Samantha as well. They both assume she must be very sick with a stomach bug of some kind and should probably go to visit her later on but while they're talking about it, they hear a lot of commotion outside and see an ambulance truck parked across the street.
They go outside to see what could of possibly happened and to their very shock, they discover the woman with the shopping bags and her two children who had the voodoo doll with them, all lying dead in the middle of the road in a horrific fatal accident. No one saw what happened but apparently they collided with a car passing by while attempting to cross the street and it killed all 3 of them. The woman's neck and joints had been twisted all around her body and the small childrens heads had been crushed into the concrete road, lying amongst the pool of their own blood was the very doll itself. The boys along with the rest of the neighbourhood locals watch in grief as the bodies are carried into black bags and loaded into the ambulance.

Knowing now that the doll is pure evil, Kyle rushes home as fast as he can, but as soon as he enters the door an old lady is in his kitchen in the dark baking a pie, she turns to him, completely pale and devoid of life with eye sockets thick with darkness and screams at him "ENIHSNUS EHT LEEF UOY NAC!!" Kyle screams in fear as he rushes upstairs to his room and slams the door shut behind him. As he catches his breath he can hear whispers again in the darkness as if the spirits of the dead were calling out to him. He turns on the lights to find the voodoo doll again staring at him with red glowing eyes, the bed soaked in blood and his friend Samantha wearing nothing but a night gown while looking as pale as death, holding the doll on her lap. With her eye sockets completely black, She says to Kyle "ENIHSNUS EHT LEEF UOY NAC" then chases him out the room. Kyle bursts out the front door completely breaking it off the hinges as he rushes to get out of the haunted house, but there he see's the undead bloody corpses of the mother and two small children who had just recently died, standing in his front yard staring directly at him with thick black eyes, howling the words repeatedly, 'enihsnus eht leef uoy nac'. Kyle Screams at the top of his very lungs as he leaps over the brick wall and rushes barefoot out into the road as fast as he can, almost colliding with a passing car as it was attempting to enter the driveway. It turns out the driver was in fact his father coming home from work but when Kyle tries to explain everything he just saw whilst still being in shock, his father believes his son might be suffering from a mild schizophrenic episode and takes him inside to have a talk with his mother about their son's unexplained behaviour. To Kyle's surprise his mother and sister were in the house all along as if nothing had ever happened.

Kyle, without saying a word, storms upstairs into his room and hides under his bed, just trying to escape every single thought thats currently entering his head and convincing himself that there is no curse, he's merely just being delusional and nothing more. But as he lays in bed trying to deprive himself of any paranoid thought, he starts to notice a slight tingle in his left foot, almost as if someone was tickling his feet from under the covers, he thinks nothing of it and tries to ignore the feeling when suddenly he feels a cold stiff hand grab hold tight of his foot. Yelling in pain he looks under the covers to find an incredibly pale woman under his covers with no eye sockets howling back at him as she attempts to pull him under the covers. he fights for his life as her cold, dead grip is overwhelming his attempts to fight back. He tries to slip out of his bed covers and rush to the corner of the room for safety when he discovers a man out of nowhere was right behind him, just as cold and dead as the woman with a eerie deafening howl just as identical as hers, he grabs hold of the boy tight as the woman draws closer. Kyle screams for his life as he scruggles to break free of his overpowering grasp. The undead woman is carrying a sharp pair of scissors and pulls down Kyles briefs in an attempt to try and cut his genitalia off. Sweating with fear, the last thing Kyle can see is the sinister Voodoo doll staring back at him from the nightstand in the corner of his eye as if to say he was in control of the whole thing. Kyle screams for his life as he suddenly awakes from his nightmare and finds himself back in his bed.

Covered in sweat and fear, he tries to catch his breath as he immediately checks his body to make sure everything is unharmed and there is no one under the sheets. He's relieved to be safe but as he comes out from under the bed sheets he screams at the discovery of the voodoo doll back on the nightstand staring at him once more!
In a fit of rage he attempts to rip the dolls head off and throw the remains out the window to be done away with forever, he then confines himself to his bed, this time refusing to leave under any circumstance whatsoever.

Minutes turn into hours as Kyle refuses to budge from his bed under any circumstance possible as he refuses to let the curse of this doll torment his mind. He later works up the courage to turn his body and face the other side of his bed after hours of paranoia, totally convinced in his own mind that the voodoo doll would be waiting for him on the other side of the room to torment him some more, thankfully he was wrong.
After a few more hours he finally manages to drift to sleep but is awoken to find a strange girl in his bathroom playing with the toilet seat. He covers his eyes with his bedsheets, refusing to acknowledge her existence he keeps telling himself "You're not real! You're not real! You can't hurt me!" but when he goes to look again she just smiles at him, pale as death with black soulless eyes, she runs out the bathroom and through the bedroom door.

As Kyle watches her leave he is startled by shock to find the voodoo doll once again on his dressing table staring at him! He screams at it "What do you want from me!?" Then goes back to hiding under his bedcovers.
He doesn't budge from this spot for the rest of the night, completely shutting himself off from the outside world, he is now entirely sure he's suffering from paranoia and its all because of the damned voodoo doll he had brought back from the pier. He wonders why he can't hear any sounds within the house for the rest of the night or why his parents never came up to check up on him to question why he hasn't eaten anything but he's too scared to risk being tormented by his own visions anymore. As far as Kyle's now concerned he just wants to die in peace.

This is a horror story I wrote a few years ago for DeviantArt.
I'm considering submitting it to a few creepypasta sites in hopes it might one day be read by some of my favorite creepypasta readers on youtube.

I would love to know what you think or if there are any areas that you feel deserve any analysis or critique.
I've always had an interest in writing horror so any feedback is really appreciated.

I realise the whole "ENIHSNUS EHT LEEF UOY NAC" theme was really gimmicky and probably could have done away with altogether (It's 'Can you feel the Sunshine' backwards for those who follow the lure that surrounds this character)
And I also realise I use the line 'thick black/soulless eyes' far too many times as well.
I personally see myself more in the role of a movie director than a writer most of the time so this really is the first time I attempted to write a story that wasn't in the form of a movie script.

Oh and if it needed clarification, Kyle is in between the age of 13 and 14 for those who were wandering.
