[...] "Gobo is gone," she cried. "I've looked for him. I went to the little place where he lay when he broke down in the snow...there was nothing there...he is gone...my poor little Gobo."
Old Nettla grumbled, "If you had looked for his tracks it would have been more sensible than crying," she said.

"There weren't any tracks," said Aunt Ena. "But...His...tracks were there. He found Gobo."

She was silent. Then Bambi asked despondently, "Aunt Ena, have you seen my mother?"

"No," answered Aunt Ena gently.

Bambi never saw his mother again.

A small part from the original book: Bambi, A life In the Woods written by Felix Salten. I imagine something like that should happened when Gobo has been found the first time for "He".

---

¿haz visto a mi madre?

ohhhhhhh so sad
Atlasfield

When I read it the first time I cried, seriously, I found so sad because Bambi not only lost her mother, lost his best friend/cousin for games. This chapter is the climax of all the novel.

yeah i know how you feel i cried too i had to close my lap top and go for a walk before i was able to keep on reading

Yeah. Is a very sad moment... I´d like to see the faces of the children if this scene should be put as the book on the movie.

This is depressing. Another piece of my heart cracked than fell to the floor. I only have like... about 60% of my heart left. I can't understand how anyone would have the will to kill an animal so relentlessly.

I'm probably going to be a park ranger, maybe than I can heal myself a bit.

Agree with you. However, if we try to undertand that evil people... it will be a waste of time because will always exist, and is something we cannot erase. The point is not ask us why exist, the point is ask us for what do it.
TheAtomicDog

In America, this would not be allowed. Fawns and juvenile bucks are off-limits to hunters.
ScottySkunk
8 years, 9 months ago
the females are too. but there  are always poachers

Females are not off limits. Most people only hunt bucks for the antlers. Those that hunt does are out for meat. Besides even poachers wouldn't hunt fawns, no point in it. But poachers are poachers and still deserve punishment.
Atlasfield
8 years, 9 months ago
Agree with you, and not only punish, they must dissappear... basically.
ScottySkunk

Maybe, however, how many people smash those animals with vehicles on roads? Even cervines or older deers is horrible and sad when this happen, I don´t tolerate that kind of... massacres.  :(
TheAtomicDog

Understood.
That sentiment is wonderfully clear in your art.

and cut to happy tweeting birds and music.

Seriously that is sad and creepy. Creepy cause dude with the gun.
the books are often way darker then the disney counterpart.
Atlasfield

Jaja, agree, the Disney version suddenly change dramatically the scene, is annoying, is like "this is another story".

Yes, the book is more dark, more sad, and in some parts more epic.

Yeah ... true that this part of the novel is the climax like you've said ... tears always comme to my eyes when I remember that part of it ... and also another parts of it make me realize that humans are not God on this planet ... that part that Bambi father show him a dead hunter ... maybe a hunt accident ... and he explain to Bambi that the humans are not the most powerful ... that we also have our flaws and our weakness ... that there's something more more powerful than us ... in a certain way he make him realize that there a kind of Creator of the Universe and it's not us

Nice emotionnal drawing my friend
Atlasfield
8 years, 9 months ago
Agree with you.

On the part his father show the body of the hunter, I think was a fight between humans because the gun has been shoot 3 times as I remember, I suspect: the guy who cared Gobo on winter killed the hunter who captured... since all the animals haunted must show their "stuff" with the park rangers... until something was illegal and then start a fight... well is my theory, I don´t think was an accident. I think on it because on the second book there are some fights between humans and the animals see what happen.

I´d like to draw something about it.  :3

I remember my middle school used to have a reading rewards program- giving prizes for reading certain books off an approved list of material and then answering quizzes afterwards. Lord of the Rings was one book, which I found weird given that it's decidedly -not- middle-school material (far too long).

Bambi, on the other hand... Bambi was dark. -Very- dark. Alot of death and alot of interpretations of death. At times I felt there were also hints or suggestions of sexual material here and there, but... I -guess- it's better than Lord of the Flies... which was -also- on the reading list.

Then again, this was Salt Lake City, so...
Atlasfield
8 years, 9 months ago
Yes indeed, exist in Bambi´novel many sexual suggestions, example the most notorious is Bambi has incest with Faline, there are cousins. Is interesting on school reward you for read a book... well, I think here in Mexico we are screw since we were children.  :/

I am reading right now the lord of the rings, I find interesting, very different as the movies of Peter Jackson, however in some parts is a little more close the animation of Ralph Bakshi.

Atlasfield
8 years, 9 months ago
Salmy
8 years, 9 months ago
Eso es muy cierto x3

Little did we know, in his past time, the Purple Man was a hunter. Go figure.

Murdering children and animals alike. .w.
