This conversation comes up every holiday, and especially on Mother's Day. This has been my go-to response forever. It always ends the conversation.

The second image... that's what I really WANT to say each time...

The desire for grand-kids will always be here. This cut the conversation but not the subject. It just put it in hibernation until the next holiday.

Really like the second one, don't we all wish we could say such things to our folks?

My late mother and Aunt asked me "When are you going to settle down and have children?"
I replied "When two women can make a baby."

I sent a thing to my aunt a few months ago, a science article that states that bone from one woman can be used to create the needed genetic material for another woman to have a baby.
She unfriended me on Facebook. =)

I've seen a fair number of furry parents who draw porn for money.

And I've wondered how they'll explain their "jobs" to their kids.

Most my friends who are artist parents, are pretty up front with their kids, who then go 'Eew!'

Right now, the world and specifically the US is becoming an increasingly unstable, hostile hotzone of greed and gluttony as the people who already own everything lust for the last penny and eradicate entire swaths of human civilization to satisfy their insatiable avarice. It's made it difficult just to sustain ourselves, let alone raise a child.

Meh, this is nothing new. Just a phase. It has happened before. The French Aristocracy, the medieval kings, American rail barons... This happens again and again, and usually ends in upheaval.

I'm of that age where my friends are starting to become parents. Every single one regrets it, when they are being honest. Two of them got post natal depression so bad they had to be hospitalised (very common too apparently) mainly because they just haven't been able to sleep for over 6 months. Also they're isolated because they can no longer do anything social without the baby getting in the way. Any dreams they had about what they'd do as a couple are ended. Their lives are over. They're miserable and for the next 20 years they're financially fucked.

The kids could model for you.

Yeah... that is all kinds of illegal...

Not necessarily. As long as the nudes are not done in sexually explicit poses and you have permission from the parents, you can draw child nudes as art.

i dont think i want to have my own kids. I think i would rather adopt. Those kids need a family plus no pregnancies and such.

The first one is funnier. Stick with that one.

I do wonder how they'd react to that second one.

But seriously. The resale value of kids has been going down. Damn economy.

My folks finally gave up asking when I was going to settle down and find some lucky girl to give them grandkids... my parents are pretty devout baptists (and strangely enough im sure that they, even being as such, arent anti homosexual in a inflammatory way, anyway)  if they have not figured out that im gay by now, and dont ask, im not offering it.  If they do, I will tell, but they have to ask...

So, if they ever ask "you dont have kids cause you draw naked children?"  At least you can be honest.  8-)

Second comic third panel, instead of pause: "Then you could use the extra inspiration" :P
