Behold, the devourer of desks! The whale of wacoms. The immense Intuos! And it ate my desk and old tablet for breakfast! Nooooooo!

LOL ^^ Okay, it's an Intuos A3 12"x19". It showed up a week early. Still in it's orginal box with it's driver cd and instruction manual and a wierd loop mouse. It was meant to be used for drafting and didn't come with any stylus. Luckily, I already have 2 styluses for the Intuos3 model ^^ I snagged this one for $390 when these mostly go for $500. This thing has never been used, there wasn't a mark on it. Think I got a pretty good deal here. Later, I'll get a screen for it and MacGyver it into a cintiq ^^

We had exactly the same Intuos 3 at the architectur office i've worked for some time ago.
Luckily boards like this aren't nessesary anymore with modern CAD programs like the one i am using right now.

Now you have a mighty workspace for some mighty Robin Hood art ^.~

Let me/us know about the MacGyvering process, i'm curious what you come up with.

Hahaha!!! I was actually wondering if you'd run across one of these since I found out that the A3 size seems to be popular in Europe :D I gotta ask: how the heck does that loop mouse work? Is it actually useful for some purpose? And what is that loop for anyway? ^^;

If you want me to, I could document how I go about building it and all the parts used :P That will have to be in a submission of course. It might be better to put it on bongofish, because it's a site dedicated to tablet building/modding and you can look at everything there without having to register :P

Ah okay, I had a feeling that's what it was for. It kinda seems really tedious to trace all those lines with a mouse though ^^;

Second picture, under the directional keys?

It's an empty box of roasted garlic instant mashed potatoes XD
I put two boxes under my keyboard to raise it up because this tablet is kinda tall.

It's a scoop and a potato?  Not a bunny??   :(

Hopefully it was just as creamy and smooth.

I consider myself a n00b to modding, so I guess I'll find out for you lol! But this year so far I've taken apart every electrical connection in my late 80s car (there were a shit load of them!) and successfully traced my car's power drain down to a short in the seat control switch in the driver's side door and a faulty ECM. During all of that, I've been planning and working on a monitor stand made out of PVC for a reclining chair.

So...I think DIY is in my blood or I'm just really crazy when I get bored lol! But when I started on my car, I bearly knew anything about cars. And I had to invent my monitor stand from a simple "see-saw" concept. It's been a lot of fun and it gave me confidence to try other things. I've always wanted a cintiq, but there's no way in hell I could justify blowing $1,700+ on what I want when my car is only worth like $700 haha! So I looked around, and found bongofish with people building awesome things like this ^^ A lot of the people there seem new to this too and they pull it off most of the time :) So I think I can too XD

I was working on a drawing today that I started like 3 days ago on my old tablet. One the A3 my lines seem to be coming out a lot smoother! I think it's because the size it forcing me to use my whole arm to make really long arcs. With the smaller one, I often made a lot of small quick strokes and never really had to put my whole body into the process. This thing feels like something I can do a ton of work on and love doing it!

i noticed the same difference when i moved from a smaller tabler bamboo to the intuos4 lg.

it takes some getting used too
have you messed around with the 'wacom tablet properties' under >Tool>Grip Pen>Mapping?
=3
Whippy

Yup, I got mine mapped to my primary monitor in landscape orientation. Also noticed a new "use windows ink" checkbox there, I unchecked it. Can't stand Windows tablet "features", they really ruin it for doing creative work. I disabled everything I could find that's part of it.

The model is closer to 10 years old. I guess this one must've been sitting collecting dust somewhere on a shelf and never getting sold since it didn't come with a stylus :P

Héhé it seem's that we might be both on the same level .. nice working space you have with that one ... really big

Correction ... I think that yours is even BIGGER than mine XD ... looks like you've bought a skating rink XD ... well now you'll be doing you stuff on a much HIGHER scale if I can say so ... X)

P.S ... mine is a Intuos4 ... it seem's it's the same size
