But SSSSHHH, don't tell them that, or you'll ruin the surprise...!

"Wait... my wizard sense is tingling...!"

Aww, you ruined it. Oh well, attack! X3

Drawn today. Started out kind of Lego-ish, but then the legs got too much of a pain, so I took some artistic liberties... been feeling some kind of Adventure Time sorta vibe from my little blue (apprentice) wizard boy adventurer minifig, so I chose a similar direction... see if you figure out how I made the staff! Which Lego pieces did I use?

The background was made a week or so ago, when I got that animating bug, intending to use it as a guide for a walk cycle... in perspective. Yeah, don't know WHAT I was thinking. Anyway, I thought to myself that if I coloured the wizard, his staff and unicorn familiar would look incomplete... and while pondering what colour to scribble behind them, I was reminded of my attempt at "painting" a forest path... oooh, just think of all the horrible (and humorous!) things I could hide behind those trees...!

Really pleased with how this came out. Really REALLY pleased. Wow, I practically never do something like this. Was loads of fun (you know, AFTER I got through whatever weird fit of anxiety I had today... inexplicable). I should do more.

Shoot! I have to get up for work in 5 hours?! AAAAARRRGH!

The staff appears to be a lightsaber with a light bulb piece on the end, maybe...?

It's actually four pieces. It kinda sticks out a bit more, but now that you mention it, though, the way I drew it does remind me of the lightsaber hilt... don't know if they even come in white, but kinda bored with using them for wizard's staffs. I mean, everyone does that! Where's the originality?! D=  I much prefer using the lightsaber as a gun barrel or something. Pew Pew! Lazerz! =3 Also a tad unoriginal nowadays, but... but... I cans cover sssspaceshipss wiv dems... *drools* all teh lazorz... 83

Knew I should have drawn the other one I designed... it has a dragon on top and everything. Totally awesome. X3

But no, the secret to both designs is the 1 x 1 stud piece with a hole through it. Got a whole bunch from the Microfighters X-wing the other day... and to think, I only grabbed it for the green astromech dome piece. XD
The light bulb piece is correct, but kind of a cheat, as the top 1x1 stud is half gripping both it's stick and the end of the long stick piece. Seems reasonably sturdy, actually. I offset the bottom 1x1 stud with the stopper or what you call it on the stick, so as to give it a bit more fancy ornate-ness, as well as hide the gap between the pole and the female end of the stud.

The dragon staff has green ones, though, with little tabs on the sides... intended for use as a flower thing. Bleh. Boring. So I made 2 of them offset approximately 45 degrees into an ornate flower thingy holding an old yellow Castle dragon crest atop a wooden (brown) "lightsaber" staff, where I substituted the hilt for the "telescope" piece, so that it kind of tapers upwards to the fancy top. Works awesome. Especially on my Green wizard, with Santa beard, and a highlander torso I liked from a previous Minifigures series, and green pointy wizard hat with a gold dragon emblazoned on it. Sometimes, things just work. =3

This was a longer explanation than intended. lol. I might need some sleep.
