Another magical thing from 2012 that I decided to brush the dust off of today. I don't think I had any patience when I started this, and quickly gave up and let it sit :P But I started to develop it more, and this little story started to grow in my head. Like, why is he tearing the earth apart or maybe he's actually putting it back together? Comjuke mentioned the concept of 'familiars' or animals used to aid in alchemy and magic. Maybe animals have a little more magic in them than the human species ^.^ As for the wizard hat, I'm thinking maybe it's something he found, a very old object, but it still works. The bugs are his friends :)
1.27.2015 - fuck you art block! Painted some more on this magical thing. Now squirrely has more bug pals. Also decided to make him more natural colored like the mice and other critters. I think he looks a little more like he belongs with the others now. That bright red color he used to be was way too distracting. It was pretty fun doing the scumbling for the mouse's fur.
4.2.2016 - I can't believe how long it's been since I touched this! But I thought I could at least post the latest version. Messing around with leaves some and painted in the land. Might add more detail to the squirrel's fur later on. Man..I seriously need to paint more. I'd love to put this up for sale as a poster some day.
