It's actually a hard mix of ganres to pick a role-play class for, but it seems like battle-mage, with emphasis on battle. I say that considering kitsune are magical, but the design points more towards the physique, plus the poise of the sword over the staff (which could actually just be a cane meant for support and packing).
The desert setting is also a unique juxtaposition. It gives off more of an Egyptian or Arabian theme, to me. But I guess it could resemble some parts of China.
