This is a preliminary drawing I did of one of the protagonists from my in-progress novel, Phobiopolis. It's not perfect, but it's close to how I see her. She's a skunk made almost entirely of black vinyl, with record grooves all over her body. She speaks by playing herself with her needle-fingers. Her tail is full of broken record shards. Even her eyes are record labels. And since she lacks fur, she's replaced her stripe with a thick white aviator's scarf.

As always, a fascinating character design. I get that her eyes are record labels, but in sketch form, it looks like she has that dull eyed psycho "I' cut you" look. The scimitar doesn't help. X3 The cheek lines at the bottom of her eyes seem to express that childlike innocence your cub/kid characters have, so If she will end up killing me horribly, she'll be nothing but and absolute angel while doing so. X3

That look in her eyes is quite intentional. And while she is young, she's definitely not one of my cuddlier ones. Junella is brusque and businesslike, often crabby, but won't unleash her talent for murder unless it's necessary. The innocent have nothing to fear from her but her sarcasm. ;)

Huh, someone got that so soon? It's not quite a pun, I guess, but yes, that is where the name came from. I'm guessing she decided on it herself (She hasn't told me yet.)

Phobiopolis is about halfway done, but it's a massive undertaking. At this point, it looks like it may end up being as long as Dangerous Lunatics.

Now that I think of it, it should. But I'm just gonna say that by the point where the story takes place, she's careful enough with her words that it doesn't often happen.
