A New Power Arising part 6

This is the sequel to The Chosen Protector, please read that before reading this or you will not understand what is going on here. If you have read it already, please enjoy the next installment.

As Serene, Lily, and Sebastian continued to run to the Elder’s palace, they were running through the streets of the Guardian city. People were in awe to why Serene was in such a hurry, everyone has a questionable look on their faces as they were watching Serene run by them. Serene was still in her wedding attire while doing this because it is still Flame and Serene’s honeymoon. Soon after running for a little bit, the three of them made it to the palace and immediately ran up the stairs to the front door of the palace and opened the door. They all went inside and closed it behind them and headed to where the Elders normally would be at. As soon as they entered the room they were immediately greeted by the Elders.

“Ah Serene! What brings you here today?” Aero asked shocked and confused.

“I have some important news I need to tell you.” Serene said sternly.

“Oh? Well please tell us Serene” Blizz asked with curiosity.

“I may know where Flame is...” Serene said with a hint of sadness in her voice.

“Hm?! That’s wonderful Serene, where is he?” Elegon asked eagerly.

“There is more I should tell you. Somehow after a long time of trying I was able to make a telepathic link to him for a few seconds. With this, I was able to trace him down and I remember where he might be at.” Serene explained.

“Something is wrong...What was the last thing he said to you Serene?” Aero asked worryingly.

“He said “Argh... Serene...Please save me...I need you Serene!!”” Serene quoted Flame deeply saddened by his last words.

“Oh my Lord...Is that what he actually said?” Blizz asked more concerned than ever for Flame now. Serene nodded at Blizz’s question.

“Hmph! We really need to do something about this at once Aero. We should assemble all of the City Guards here at once and set off to go to Flame and bring him back.” Elegon said hastily and commanding.

“Of course, we shall assemble them at once. But we have no idea what will be in store for Serene and our guards. So we need to be careful. I am going to assemble them now.” Aero said and teleported away in a bright flash of white light.

“Thank you Elders...I swear I will get Flame back.” Serene said more determined than she ever sounded before.

“Good Serene, I am glad to know that you love and care for him so much. But when you do leave be very careful when you go to wherever he is. We have no idea what could be in store for you.” Blizz said cautiously.

“I already understand Blizz.” Serene said nodding in understanding her. Aero teleported back in the room and said “The City Guards are on their way here, every single one will be joining you on your rescue mission Serene.”

“Wonderful! I can’t thank everyone enough for doing a lot for me.” Serene said happily.

“Of course Serene, everyone is willing to help you if you ever need it. Now happens to be one of those times.” Aero said calmly. Serene nodded at Aero’s statement and was waiting for everyone to show up.

“Serene, we wish you the best of luck on your mission” Lily said while looking at Serene in her deep blue eyes and while being held by Sebastian around her waist. “Yeah Serene, we both wish for the best for you.” Sebastian said.

“Thanks you two, thank you very much.” Serene said. Shortly after, the City Guards came into the palace and headed into the same room where everyone was at. One by one the marched in the room wearing a blue silk tunic stating that they were the City Guards. The tunics themselves had each guard’s name inscribed on the top right of it and it had the letters “CG” inscribed on the back of it with a circle around it. After all of the guards marched in, there was roughly around thirty of them, all ranging from Gardevoirs, Gallades, and even some Kirlias as well. All in unison they all said “Standing by and waiting for orders ma’am!” Serene walked closer to the guards and began to look at their faces, she recognized Sage and Kage instantly but they seemed not to notice her, just standing there just waiting for their orders. Serene was pacing back and forth, thinking of what to say. A few moments later she stopped and began to say “Well, you are all willing to help me. I appreciate that. But, you are all aware that we have no idea what dangers lie ahead of us. So I can not guarantee your safety, but I will do anything to protect it. Now I hope you realize the dangers, and if you still accept this mission. Let us begin to head over to Flame and bring him home.” Serene took one last good look at them, knowing they were all going no matter what. She began to walk around the guards and headed out through the front door of the palace. All of the City Guards were following Serene’s lead out of the city and they began there long march to Flame. Serene’s eyes were determined; it seemed like her eyes burned with a fire of passion and care for Flame. She wasn’t going to let anything get in her way.

“Hmm...The suit doesn’t fit you well with your wedding attire on Flame” The Boss said puzzled why a Gallade is even wearing that in the first place. “Assistant Roxanne. I need you to get me the screwdriver to open this and close it.” The Boss called his assistant in the other room. She came in with a special screwdriver for Flame’s suit and the Boss unscrewed certain parts of Flame’s armor and then with a hissing sound the armor opened itself up and Flame stepped out of it and the armor was still standing on its own, opened. Flame was still wearing his helmet, but the Boss took that off for now as well.

“Now Flame, take off that wedding clothing you have on and then get back into the suit.” The Boss said. Flame nodded and began to take off any clothing he could, but the dress was still on him and Roxanne helped Flame with that part. After Flame was done undressing himself, he was only wearing his pants, and then he got back into his suit of armor and the Boss closed it on Flame and with a hissing sound, the suit sealed itself back up and was operational again.

“Ahh, even better now Flame. I will just store this in the closet over here for now.” The Boss said as he grabbed Flame’s wedding attire, opened a closet, and placed the clothing in there for storage.

“Boss, what does this suit of armor do exactly?” Roxanne asked with great curiosity.

“Ah, have you seen the other armor? The ones Fredrick, Douglas, Armando, and Charles used.” The Boss asked.

“Yes I have. Why?” Roxanne replied.

“Well basically Flame’s armor is like theirs but his doesn’t have all the extra equipment that the other people need. And besides the color difference of the armor as well. Also the body of it is different as well. So all this truly does is enhance his physical attack and defense.” The Boss explained.

“Alright then Boss, I will be heading back to my work now.” Roxanne said and walked back to her desk in the other room.

“Now Flame...We have to greet some “guests” of ours properly. So if you will come with me, we can set the stage up for our company.” The Boss said and walked out of his office. Flame nodded and followed close behind him.

“Oh and Roxanne, before I forget, make sure that Fredrick, Douglas, Charles and Armando are ready to go as well.” The Boss said. Roxanne nodded at the Boss.

Meanwhile Serene was leading the City Guards to where she heard Flame’s last thought. Ice and Tim came out of nowhere in front of Serene.

“Hey Serene. Tim and I were wondering if we can assist you on your rescue mission or not?” Ice asked eagerly

“Fine with me. Just follow me and the City Guards and I will show you where Flame is.” Serene said calmly and commanding.

“You got it Serene!” Tim said excitingly. After that everyone began to march on to where Serene thought Flame was.

“Boss! You needed us?” Fredrick shouted a little bit to get his attention.

“Ah yes. Glad all of you could make it, meet your newest member.” The Boss said pointing at Flame.

“Is that the Gallade that we captured earlier?” Charles asked.

“Why, yes it is. He is going to be a part of your squad now. Also, you are going to have to get ready for welcoming our guests that will be arriving in a few hours.” The Boss said.

“Roger that sir. We shall suit up and get prepped and ready” Douglas said.

“Alright then, head off now and get ready.” The Boss said. Everyone nodded “Oh and Flame, head over to Field Testing Area, you shall wait for your guests to arrive there” The Boss said and Flame nodded and ran off to where he was told to do so.

Hours passed as U.P.R.A. was preparing for the arrival of Serene, the City Guards, Ice, and Tim. They were setting up barricades left and right, as well as defense perimeters.

“Is everything ready now Douglas?” Charles asked him over his radio.

“Yeah, everything is ready on my end. What about you Armando?” Douglas asked Armando.

“Yes, everything is ready on my end as well.” Armando replied.

“Everything is ready then. Flame is also set, should if things go smoothly, everything will be fine on our end.” Fredrick said.

“Good luck everyone. Let’s try not to kill the poke’mon if possible.” Douglas said a little worried about that.

“Okay, if you get any activity on your end, contact us and we will be there shortly.” Charles said as a reminder.

“Roger that over and out.” Armando said.

Serene and everyone else arrived at the main base of U.P.R.A. and all of them were examining it from a safe distance in a dense forest and able to stay out of sight that way. Kage walked a little closer to Serene and asked her “Are you sure this is the place Serene?”

“Absolutely.” Serene replied.

“How do you want to take this?” Kage asked her another question.

“Hmm...I think I should go first as a scout or recon. Relay necessary info to all of you through my psychic powers and give you helpful clues and hints while all of you move through base. I will continue to move on my own through the base, looking for Flame or any clues for me to find him as well. Also, you may encounter some resistance, of course. But you all should be very careful in dealing with it, if it was able to take Flame down no problem at all then there is definitely a problem going into a head-on attack. Now basically all of the objective here are: rescue Flame and bring him out, go into the base and destroy it, and defeat any resistance we encounter in there and make sure to bring everyone back safely. We leave no one behind.” Serene explained.

“You all heard our lady, now prepare to move in on her command.” Kage told the rest of the guards, Ice and Tim. Serene looked back on everyone and nodded to them and then she began her stealthy approach to the base in bright daylight...
