A New Power Arising part 7

This is the sequel to The Chosen Protector, please read that before reading this or you will not understand what is going on here. If you have read it already, please enjoy this next installment.

As Serene was heading towards the base, she quickly dashed next to the base wall to try and keep out of sight from the guards. She knew being stealthy wasn’t going to be an easy task wearing wedding attire in mid day light. Serene slowly moved along the edge of the wall quietly to avoid the rustling of her petticoats or making any noise in the first place. She finally reached the edge of the base wall and peaked around the corner with one of her blue eyes and she saw four guards, one robotic dog, and then one mech suit of armor.

“This is Serene everyone, at where I am looking at, there are about six guards in total guarding this entrance. I am going to scout another part of the base to see if there is another opening somewhere with fewer guards.” Serene said telepathically and shortly after stopped peering over the corner of the wall and teleported in a white flash to a different side of the base.

Serene arrived at her other destination and began to walk next to the wall and be silent as possible. Serene made it to the corner of the wall and she peered over it and saw the same results on this side as well. “This is Serene once again everyone, this side I am looking at has the same number of guards. So a new plan of attack will have to be made here.” Serene said telepathically.

“I got a plan for us.” Sage said telepathically to everyone.

“We will split up into two groups of two and attack on both sides. After we get into groups and break through their outside defenses, we need to rescue Flame and bring him out safely. Also, as all of us know, we don’t know anything about the base’s interior structure, so we need to be careful about moving through the base.” Sage said telepathically to everyone.

“Sounds good to me.” Serene replied telepathically.

“Sounds good to me as well.” Kage said “Anyone object to this?” Kage looked around for a few moments and everyone was quite. “Okay, now we need to figure out how the groups are going to split up.” Kage said.

“I have an idea. Ice, head over to where Serene is and assist on her side. Squads four and six head with Serene as well. Tim and squads one, two, three, and five, you will head with me and Kage on our side.” Sage explained to everyone using his telekinetic powers.

“You heard him, move out!” Kage said. Ice immediately dashed out of the bushes he was hiding in and in a matter of moments met up with Serene. Squads four and six teleported to Serene and met up with her as well. Serene’s attacking front consisted of Ice, five Gallades, four Gardevoirs, and three Kirlias. Sage, Kage, and squads one, two, three, and five instantly teleported to the other side of the base, while teleporting they left Tim behind.

“You’re forgetting someone!” Tim thought to himself. Sage sighs and sticks his hand out at Tim and teleports him next to everyone.

“Now get ready to attack when Serene says to do so.” Sage said to everyone.

“Serene, we are standing by and waiting for you order to move in.” Kage said telepathically. The other attacking force consisted of Sage, Kage, Tim, ten Gallades, eight Gardevoirs, and six Kirlias.

“Understood Kage. I will give you and order to move in when we get some damage done over here and then you and everyone could move in easier.” Serene replied telepathically.

“Roger that. Good luck my lady...” Kage said worryingly and hopeful at the same time.

“Thanks Kage. I hope things go smoothly on your end as well.” Serene said with great confidence and hope.

“Ice, give these guys a little confusion with your Double-Team attack.” Serene said to Ice.

“Sure thing Serene.” Ice’s eyes flashed a white light for a second and then three other copies of himself appeared and they sprang into action and went headstrong into their defense perimeter.

“Hey! Get those Scythers!” One of the guards shouted. The four guards started to shoot Ice’s copies from their M26FCs. But every shot they took, ended with the same result as missing every shot. The Scythers were laughing at the guards and then the mech unit stepped in and began to take some shots at Ice’s copies as well.

“Hey Ice, go and attack that mech from behind and take down those weird box looking things on it.” Serene told Ice.

“With pleasure...” Ice flapped his wings for a few split moments and took off towards the mech and slashed the boxes on its back and then a small explosion shortly took place after.

“What?!” The mech shouted and could be heard through some kind of microphone and amp that was set up inside the mech so it could speak. The mech pointed one of its fingers at Ice and then the robotic dog dashed and leapt towards Ice. Ice side-stepped the dog’s attack and sliced its left side and then when the dog hit the ground it exploded.

“C’mon, I am not even having fun.” Ice said tauntingly. Ice’s clones were still keeping the guards busy by dodging all of their bullets. Suddenly gunshots ceased and then one of them said “What?! I am out of ammo”

“I am as well.” The other guard said.

“Crap, I am out as well.” Another guard said.

“Same...” The last guard said. All of Ice’s clones laughed and then vanished instantly. “What?! Fakes all along?! That’s ridiculous!” One of the guards shouting.

“I’m tired of hearing his voice now...”  Noel said, leader of squad six. She was a Gardevoir who didn’t like people to yell all the time. She stuck out one of her hands and pointed her fingers at that one guard and then two small, blue energy circles appeared right on the guard’s shoulders and then he instantly fell down to the ground, face first. Noel did that to all of the other guards as well. One by one, all of them were knocked out and fell face first into the ground.

“Nice technique Noel. I like how you did that.” Serene said flatteringly.

“Thanks, but it is pretty simple to do as well.” Noel replied to Serene.

“Have to try that later on then.” Serene said. Ice dashed at the mech and the mech shot back at Ice. Ice was able to avoid every shot thanks to his high mobility. Ice got next to the mech and slashed its gun and left forearm and then a small explosion came from its left arm.

“Argh!” The mech shouted. Serene jumped into the scene of the battle and used her psychic power to hold the mech down. She then walked up to the mech and asked it “Do you know where Flame is?” The mech didn’t respond and the Ice made an incision on the visor of the mech and ripped off the entire head piece of the mech. Ice and Serene were shocked to see a human in the mech. Serene’s eyes began to glow a dark blue as she began to read his mind. Shortly after she found all the necessary information she needed to find Flame.

“What are you going to do with me?” The man asked nervously.

“We won’t do anything to you Armando. Just sit back and relax...” Serene said calmly and her eyes began to glow blue once again. Armando was slowly falling asleep, a few moments later he was knocked out. Serene gently laid his mech suit on the ground and gave a hand motion for everyone to move in on the base.

“Kage, we cleared out this side. Move in now. Be careful of that mech, make sure you take out those boxes on its shoulders and back. Also make sure to destroy the left forearm as well.” Serene said telepathically to Kage.

“Understood, commencing attack now!” Kage said.

“Everyone listen up. You all need to clear out the base and destroy it. Whatever is in this base, leave it and make sure it is destroyed completely. I will go and get Flame by myself. Don’t question why, I just need to. Good luck everyone...” Serene said before teleporting off on her own mission.

“Ice, come with our squads and help us clear out this section of the base.” Noel said.

“Sure thing, lead the way.” Ice said as he got next to Noel.

“Alright, I will then. Try and stick with the group.” Noel said before she took off running down a hallway with squad six and four. Ice followed them close behind, ready for a fight to happen at any time.

Serene teleported into some kind of office that Armando knew about and Serene thought she could find something important in here. She was looking around the office’s desk droors, cabinets, and closets. Suddenly she opened one of the closets and saw Flame’s wedding dress and everything that went with it. She was shocked to have found it laying here, her eyes widened and shined with the office light reflecting off her blue eyes.

“Flame...I am coming for you now...Please hold on.” Serene said to herself.

Serene placed her hand on Flame’s wedding clothing and began to stroke it back and fourth, getting a feel of the seamstress’s work on the dress. Her eyes glowed blue and then she teleported the dress to another place.

“That should be a safe spot to put it at.” Serene said to herself.

“Serene, this is Kage. We cleared out the other side now. We have a few injured on this side because more guards came than we expected.”

“Did you find out who was in the mech suit?” Serene asked telepathically.

“There is a person inside of that thing?!” Kage asked confused and shocked.

“Yes, open the visor somehow to get a look at the human’s face.” Serene said.

“Will do. How are things on your end?” Kage asked.

“Not sure really. I am by myself now. You would need to contact either Noel or Marcus to get a better answer.” Serene said.

“Alright then Serene, so why are you by yourself?” Kage asked Serene.

“I am going to save Flame by myself, don’t ask about it. I just am going to do so...” Serene faded out.

“Okay Serene, hope things go smoothly on your end.” Kage said.

“Thanks, I am going to be heading to him now. I will contact you if I need anything.” Serene said.

“Sure thing, we are entering the base now as well. The injured were teleported back and are in care of Elders and nurses back at the city.”

“Okay, going now.” Serene said.

“Hey Kage, this is Noel. Our squad found some kind of generators to power some devices to hinder our psychic ability in certain areas. What do you want us to do with it?”

“Destroy it. Make sure it can’t be used by these humans again.” Kage said sternly.

“Roger that, destroying it now.” Noel said. “Destroy it.” Noel commanded the squads. All of the squad member’s eyes began to glow red, but nothing was happening to the machine.

“I was afraid of that. Ice I need your help to destroy the generator here.” Noel said.

“You got it.” Ice said, and the sliced at the machine a few times, grinding it up with each slice he took. Shortly after, the machine beeped a few times and then smoke came out of the openings. Noel then pointed her hand at the machine and the machine was crushed instantly.

“Now we should see if there are any more of these things. Move out and be sure to knock out any guard you see here.” Noel commanded. Squads four and six ran out of the room and began to search for any more of the generators. Ice and Noel followed them as well.

Serene was walking down a quite hallway in the base, she soon saw a large metallic door that slide open two ways. She was hesitant to open the door but she looked to her left and saw a panel where you have to put a code to get in it. Serene knew the code from reading Armando’s mind and quickly pushed a few keys and the door slid opened with a hissing sound. Serene walked in slowly into the dark room and once she was past the door, the door slid itself closed and the room became pitch black. After a few long moments of silence, light turned on and revealed that Serene was on a poke’mon battling field. She was looking around to see if anyone else was there or not.

Suddenly a mechanized Gallade appeared on the other side of the field. It was covered in white and silver armor all over its body. Serene just stood there, shocked at what she saw. Suddenly a loud echo could be heard throughout the stadium and it said “Well, well Protector. How you feel like fighting my robot here? Hope you can have some fun, there is a surprise waiting for you as well.” Evil laughter was head after that was said.

The Gallade mech’s eyes flashed red, showing that it was activated.

“Flame...?” Serene said softly and her eyes began to tear up. “I can’t believe they did this to you...”

The robotic Gallade ran straight towards Serene head on ready to attack her. A tear rolled down Serene’s face as Flame got closer and closer to her. “Sorry Flame, I am sorry I was too late and now I have to fight you to bring you back...”
