Been some time since I did a pic of my Florkata species and well this is what came to mind late one night. ^^ I'll include a Refresher Codex and a bit of info on the character.

The Florkata are a sapient plant species native to the world Falestia. A garden world with rich biodiversity most of which plant based. Being Flora descended the Florkata have a number of unique traits. For one they are capable of photosynthesis. As long as they have a steady supply of water they can survive several months without food. However they do not do well when cut off from sunlight or a general UV source for all that long. Key neural transmitters are made during photosynthesis and as they deplete from lack of sunlight the Florkata in question descends into what they call "Nocturne Madness." Symptoms include paranoia, anxiety, diminished reasoning, and increased aggression. Florkata can continue in this state for some time so long as food and water are available though they mental functioning will eventually drop to animal levels. Exposure to high levels of UV can replenish their neural transmitter levels restoring normal brain functioning however the experience often leaves traumatic long term psychological scarring. Another distinct trait held by the Florkata is the ability to generate and manipulate light via a telekinetic ability. This can manifest in a number of ways from displays during performances, to rendering one's self nearly invisible, to focusing the light like a laser. The first is common enough while the later two require substantial training to achieve.

Socially Florkata are relatively peaceful having been long time allies of the Sokee. They hold a deep respect for nature and flora in particular. This is seen best in that most of their technology is bio-engineered. Even their ships are grown rather than constructed in the conventional sense. That said there are a number of things which are more obviously synthetic but produced via biotechnologies. While they use more conventional computer systems the components of them are grown to specification.

Kawa grinned as he once more found himself on a walk through the park. He sighed as he took a deep breath of the summer air. It was a very warm and despite a few clouds a very sunny day so Kawa so no reason to wear anything other than his diaper and the quantum computer around his neck. When your species is photosynthetic it's good to have as much skin exposed to the sun as possible. With the sun shining and the sounds of a few plants and animals in the park Kawa was feeling good. Just what he needed to charge up his inspiration for some projects at the Art Institute. He already had the idea of what he wanted to do. Use his Laser ability to create a sculpture of an AerroThornLeaf, a flying plant creature, in flight. It'd take skill but it'd be worth it. Of course Kawa got no further on that thought as he stopped on the trail and a grin came to his face.

"Kibou! When did you get here?" Kawa called out and waved as he picked up the pace making his way to the Sokee who was busy drinking from a fountain.

"Huh? Kawwa there you are! I stopped by your dorm but you weren't there. Your neighbor said I'd find you here." Kibou told him once he finished his drink and wiped his mouth. "And I just got in a few hours ago."

"Great to see ya. I wasn't expecting you for another week. I've still gotta present my final project before the summer break." Kaway said rubbing the back of his head.

"No problem. I wanted to come out early and see some of Falestia. Plus I wanted to see your project too." Kibou said sensing a little worry in his friend who blushed a darker shade of green. "I'm sure it'll be great.

"Thanks Kibou. Well it'll be nice having you here. You can keep me from driving myself nuts and give me an objective eye." Kawa said as the two walked on down the path. "Now then come on. It's nearly noon and I think it's time you sampled some Florkata food."
