But though the color may be a little off it was more of the shading that gave it that kind of effect. Water and shading are very difficult to do. In a pool such as that the water wouldn't be crystal clear but at that range and angle you would see a semi-distorted lower half below the water along with the shadow on the floor, and at the top of the water your shadow, if any, would be significantly darker. Plus if the sun was bright enough to cast that type of shadow the rest of the water would be much more reflective to light.
For your more cartoony style you could get away with not seeing below the water, but it would look better using a lighter color and instead of shading using highlights ^^
I hope I don't come off sounding critical, because I do like it. It's just I love it when fellow artists give me tips so I thought I'd pass it on :)
