Well the lil Liger's designed a new alien/Synthetic species. This time one with a holographic body. As always with new species there's a Codex entry on em and info on the individual.
Spectromorphs are a Synthetic species native to the world Doxlavar. What is most commonly seen of a Spectromorph is their solid hologram body. A creation of light and force field technology that simulates actual matter. This body can appear however they choose and change on a whim. This said often times they choose one form which they consider their own natural state from which they rarely make significant alteration. The Spectromorphs arose on this planet as the descendents of machines built by other cultures. They were initially an amalgam of a variety of synthetic beings from many different worlds. Over time they changed and evolved into what we see today. Spectromorphs are essentially an AI. The AI Core is the Spectromorph itself. While the core itself is small and unassuming the material of it's outer casing has proven to be exceptionally resilient, able to withstand high yield explosions at point blank range without sustaining fatal damage. Their core also incorporates miniaturized matter transporter technology. Though it's range is limited it is still useful for extricating a Spectromorph from a dangerous situation. On the offense this technology can also be used to dematerialize a foe in whole or in part. The Core's memory systems are also capable of storing a vast wealth of schematics for anything they might wish to create. In combat these schematics can be used to create holographic weapons just as deadly as the genuine article. Beyond that they are also capable of firing an intense laser.
Societally the Spectromorphs are a curious people and although not easy they have endeavored to foster peaceful relations with organic races. Assisting in the development of various technologies as well as enabling joint exploration ventures. This said they will fiercely defend their home and those they consider friends. Spectromorph Combat Vessels are said to be some of the most capable in the galaxy. As their only purpose is combat and defense they have no life support or corridors big enough to house the average organic. Their Combat Vessels are nearly solid blocks of material in construction without the need for the amount of space organics require to function comfortably.
Dexel is a Spectromorph with an interest in other species and has done extensive work in joint species ventures. This sees him traveling to many worlds learning about the organics he works with and making friends along the way. Dexel is currently assisting in joint development projects with humans and learning more about them in the process. Dexel's holographic form is shorter than most humans being about four feet tall and retaining youthful features. Dexel has designed it this way on purpose as he liked the aesthetics and found that organics responded more positively to this form.
