Well I've been on a lil Superman kick since the trailer for the new Man of Steel movie came out and well I sketched this while watching some of the animated stuff.

"I am Den-El. Child of the House of El. My father used to tell me stories of Krypton. Our old home. We were a great people once. But by the time our world fell so had we. When Jor-El warned of our home's destruction none would listen and he was forced to remain silent. But his brief warning was enough. Others heeded his warning. They gathered ships in secret and left Krypton before the end. But me. I never saw Krypton. I was born on the Kryptonian Ship Alaia. I remember growing up. We tried for years to reseed Rao our home system. But Krypton's Death throws had contaminated every world we could terraform. So eventually we gave up and set course for Earth. Our journey took the convoy 10 years to complete. Our ships were slower and we did stop occasionally for one reason or another. On the way to earth we picked up transmissions. Tales of one of our own. I was mesmerized by them. Most of us were. Now I stand here on his world. Our new home. We can be so much more for them. Me. I want to be a protector. Hence the shield on my shoulders. I'm working with the Justice League now. A number of us are. I'm not a full member yet but I'm doing my part. Of course I've helped out a bit back home. We built New Kandor in Antarctica. A frozen continent seemed fitting for the city and no one on Earth was using it save for Kal-El. So now here I stand. On Earth. Growing stronger by the day under the shining glow of a beautiful yellow star and like him. We can all strive to be more."
